Filthy....but yet you continue to antagonise people on here, presumably for the fun of it. Unless you're masking it and actually you do care? Perhaps you are a lonely, insecure individual who craves any form of interaction? Who knows or cares. But hey ho it takes all kinds. I genuinely hope you get all you need from the stuff you post and the replies you get. We both know, that really, you won't.
You presume a lot.
I try not to name call like others name call. If I get insulted I’ll happily go on the wind up for a bit.

But you’re right. I do care. I care about my job. But I’m not loyal enough to fall on to hardship and struggles. I’ll grab What money I can and if the job becomes too unbearable I’ll get another job.
This statement makes no sense at all to be honest. Your absolute confidence that one could walk into another job with a click of the finger that parallels the same terms and conditions and payrate that we currently have if refreshing I suppose.
Anyway Merry Christmas... not a day for squabbling

What is so hard to get with this statement?

He likes his job - had been doing it for about 3 decades; he has seen and gone through many changes but he still thinks the job is fine even with proposed changes.

Also, he is just simply working for the money not some weird postman pat accolades or attributes. Just the money and it is still ain't too bad for him to lost money through strikes about money and terms.

Finally, he'll grab what he can for now. When the job becomes unbearable, he will leave.

Where did he say he can simply walk into another job with the same terms and money - in fact, his posts and this one implied the opposite.

Hopefully the CWU and RM can actually have proper talks and maybe they will find a middle ground.

Personally, I think any deal now will be for the April lot. ST said as much last month. As we have had no deal this year (of note) it could be something like a 13/14% pay raise in April with some of the terms changed.

But we will see. I’ll continue to work through the strikes and walk past the picket. Not my union. How does that saying go, not my circus not my monkeys?
I hope Xmas brings you everything you deserve :no no
How can you believe a word ST says? He tells so many lies. ST is will not be in the job much longer. He’s waiting to see what multi million £ pay off he will give himself then he’s out. Then the ship will start to float again

Factory work I can imagine being quite mind numbing? Especially if the hours are unsociable.
Very mind numbing, but the worst part was the complete exclusion from reality. 0600-1800 is just, lifeless. Needing days off to deal with anything al all, no chance to ever deal with childcare or anything akin to it (elderly family, sick partners) etc. I wouldn't go so far to say it was a *bad job*. because inherently it wasn't, but the shifts were really exclusionary to living a life.

Yeah I used to speak to a guy who did the early morning shift at UPS. Basically 1am - 7am. It just knocked him out of sync for ages.
If he had child care issues he either had to ask his parents or get no sleep…
This whole strike is fighting for your T&C this was never about the money was it they RM have 1.7 billion pounds to defeat us all.
We need a deal that stops or reduces this change of hours. we can only do that if someone turns up but alas he continues to runaway from the challenges that we all face today.
Never about money? Is that why we broke the agenda for growth to ballot which effectively gave them free reign on our t and c's? Please correct me if wrong , for some its absolutely about money

This is PERFECTLY PUT. I am not in the union and have not been striking , i didnt vote its not my fight and i am not even that fussed about the changes as i will leave. I have been ridiculed on here because of this. I am here for pay , yes the job is good but i will leave if it becomes awful

Fair enough you do make a fair argument.
The way you have worded it does make sense. I think the element that stood out was he cared for his job.
I don't see how anyone who cared for the job could not do the only option possible and withdraw their labour to preserve the job they claim to care about.
I'm not one for name calling or judging. I accept he cares about the job and I was wrong about the walking into another job part.
All I know is I care about this job so the only option I have is to withdraw my labour.
But I appreciate people approach the situation in different way.

I much prefer amicable discussion !!
When I say ‘care about the job’ it also covers more than the terms and condition side (in an ideal world I would love it to stay as it is…) but also the aspect of customer service and taking pride in what I do. I love chatting to customers and popping in to check in the old folk. I have very few missorts and try to deliver every letter before returning etc

You are here for pay yet say ''its not my fight'' when we take action on pay

I would sort of understand this position from non union members if any pay increases won by the union and its members only applied to union members rather than every employee, member or not

I assume you will refuse any extra pay increase we achieve above the 2% since it wasnt you who won it ......no didnt think so

You will take it like a leech
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

As non union members we get no say in balloting and strike action and such. That’s your choice. I won’t blame you for the falling share prices or the lost customers.
You turned down 7.5% and changes to the terms etc which I had no say in. You decided for me.
So yes, I will take any pay raise like a leech and will enjoy it.

Are you for real? Disgusting post. Some on here are really struggling with the sacrifices they have made. Yet you are gloating and really should rot in hell.

I’m not gloating. I’m stating a fact. You don’t represent me. I don’t represent you.
And I’ll rot in hell if I am a murderer or rapist I’m sure. But for going to work? Get a grip.

Simon Thompson is feeling happy :Very Happy :

"Team - please can I take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas - and to say - how incredibly proud I am of my Team - for choosing to spend your Christmas Day talking shop on here - disagreeing and falling out with each other - instead of switching off for a few days like Dave Ward has done - well done and keep up the good work - I need to blast my plans into place and knowing there is such division amongst my Team is a great asset to me - , thank you - I never thought I would be more popular than Santa on Christmas Day" :Applause

I am here for pay and i am happy with my current pay ? Why would i strike? I dont get a choice in the matter of pay just like how i didnt get a choice in the 9 percent offer which i would of happily taken ? but seeing as the union is inept anyway i guess i dont have to worry about that hypothetical scenario as they have been handed a huge embarrassing defeat , so glad i saved them union fees. Its my colleagues who i feel bad for being misled by this union , good people. Be interesting to see this next ballot
