If this is to be a war of attrition, then action cannot be all strike days, us losing pay while bosses laugh at us.
Action will have to take the form of a strict work-to-rule, along with an overtime ban, as well as a Saturday/Monday strike every other month, as I can see this carrying on well into the new year.
Agree with a lot of your post but cant agree a sat/mon strike every other month what about those who only work tues to fri??
That, I will leave to those on a higher pay grade than me, in the CWU, to solve.
But, if striking two consecutive days, whilst losing just a day's pay two consectutive weeks is possible, then that would be ideal in my opinion.
Was'nt being critical think most of us would settle for losing 1day a week 2 is a real ball-breaker.

FilthyBloke, what is wrong with you? Not about your strikebreaking but about your obsession with posting comments on here about your strikebreaking.
Defending myself is not a crime. Plus I think it might help other people who are struggling and thinking of going in but are too scared because of the lifetime of bullying/being ignored/harassment etc.

Do what is best for you.
Best for me? You mean financially, don't you?
How about best for me in terms of integrity and generally being a decent human being to others, and not just to family and friends?
You really really don't get it do you?

It's not best for him. He's actively undermining efforts to maintain/improve pay and conditions of his employment. The idea that he's putting his family first, is ludicrous.

You still don’t know my reasons. Because none of you have actually asked.
Not that it’s any of your business. But before people branded me a ‘thief, embarrassment, scab…’
And before people said they would ‘ignore me forever and not even open the door for me,’…..
I was actually a little worried about letting people down in the work place.

But the people that matter to me are the people that I go to work for.

So call me whatever. Claim I’m a manager. Claim I have four other ids on here. Claim im a troll.

Because I genuinely don’t care about your opinion.

So I’ll continue to comment and reply on threads that I feel are relevant to me. Put me on your ignore list if you want. I’m happy to discuss. But as long as people are so quick to judge and mock and insult I will be more than happy to gloat about my strike breaking.

We all should be in solidarity against Royal Mail. But let's look at the bigger picture there's a small minority out there who have with held there labour over the past months but are know seriously struggling financially. Come next year they could lose there homes and and upto there eyeballs in debt. With no financial help off our Union I will not begrudge any postman for crossing a picket line over the next two days to save there family.
Yes I will support them at work because I don't want to see a fellow colleague struggling to put a roof and food on the table for there family
It's all down to a Mexican Stand off between Royal Mail and the CWU. So please come to some compromise and find a middle ground :pray
What exactly has been happening with the strike fund? Does anyone know people who have succesfully had access to it? Hearing you have to give them your bank statements to prove your struggling seems awful and degrading if its true. Or do we even know how much is in it? I cant see the public donating much to it during the COL crisis as it is
where does the 300k a week from all the 2/3 quids the union gets from our wages go ,should people struggling not be able to get some of that to help out ??

I admire your conviction and ability to stick up for yourself. I'm not going to judge you for working - I don't know your circumstances.

I'm someone who doesn't really give a toss whether someone works the strike or not. I'll treat that person the same as I've always treated them. I'll go as far to say I get on better with the non-union and strike breakers at our place than my so-called 'comrades' on the picket line.

We have loads in our office who think we're all mates now just because we're on strike together. The same ones who have stabbed others in the back, done horrible things both at work and outside of work and yet we're meant to believe just because they're standing on the picket line they have integrity and are a decent human being. The same ones who go on about protecting the job for future generations - except they're not. They're protecting the cushy number they have for themselves as they know if they got another job then they might have to do a day's graft and not stand about playing on their mobile phone and drinking coffee all morning. I work with a shower of lazy b@@%%%%$ who claim 'we're all in it together', except we're not and we never have been.

Thanks.
And I’d agree with the ‘cushy number’ statement. People are fighting for their terms and conditions now yet they have been abusing them for years. Finishing hours early. Not having a lunch break. Not doing van checks. Ghosting. Abusing the sick pay and time off.

I don’t care either if people strike or not. It’s a choice.

It’s not like the miners strikes where while communities were dependent on the mines functioning. Where you couldn’t just get a job down the road at Aldi on the same money. Its because the terms and conditions and pay are probably too good for this job that people are desperate to keep hold of them.

I also don’t understand the fascination of the USO. But that’s a different debate.

I’m happy to continue to post on here. I think it’s healthy to have different opinions and outlooks.

Best thing I did was walk past that picket line.

I have zero in common with those folks who believe that terms and conditions come before family and mental health.

What’s good is now people are ignoring me so I don’t have to waste time listening to their drivel. I just get paid.

And all those who think the public think of me as ‘embarrassing’ whilst my brave comrades are heroically holding the picket line are mistaken. All I have had from the public is ‘thanks’ and other words of support.
Didn't you say your manager brought the work out to you, so you didn't have to cross the picket line.

That’s the thing with these troll accounts - they talk that much baloney, they more often than not trip themselves up. 2yr Postie is a classic example
“Shorts,in this weather?!”

“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”

“What’s she been ordering now?”

That type of person would do that in any job. That's the person, not the job. Stick them in another job somewhere else and they'd act exactly the same. Conscience-free individuals.

If I, or any decent person, have nothing to do, I/they will go over and sort some packets, letters, big packets, check if there is mail to be cleared off, etc.

If you see someone standing or sitting drinking coffee or playing with their phone when there is work to be done (and there always is) it doesn't mean that their job is easy, it just means that they are a low quality human being.

You will find those everywhere.
