Further to the update this afternoon, we can confirm that within hours of receiving our letter, Royal Mail Group have rejected our attempt to resolve the dispute.

The strikes planned for 23/24 December will go ahead.

We remain available for further talks facilitated by ACAS

so will the CWU be hitting them with more strikes dates tomorrow between xmas and new year before any of our ballots expire ? , imo we should be .

if no strikes happen until a reballot it will have been all for nothing imo , they will catch up adn there terms will be pushed through

well its in the letter they sent to Royal Mail, the preconditions are set out in there for the strikes to be called off. RM don't want to know. its THEM refusing to budge. they want it all and THEN some.

There is plenty of media attention and Royal Mail have written to the CWU twice over the last few days asking us to call off the strikes without any pre conditions.

Instead we listed the conditions if Royal Mail agreed would make us consider standing down the strikes. They cover all the main principles of the strike. It is no surprise that they have rejected them but now they will be under pressure from the media especially due to 1.7 billion fund they have and son can afford the deal.

Remember there has to be an agreement in the end and Royal Mail know they cannot introduce their revision plan or their financial recovery plan.

You say they cant introduce their revision plan, but we've been shown our office revision changes which will be starting Jan 16th.So your saying this wont happen ? What is stopping them from doing this?

Do they really think members will turn against the union? there's no sign of that. We've all seen how Thompson and co have been behaving. There's zero chance of members giving in or siding with Thompson. Royal Mail are deluded if they think that's going to happen. The offer is so poor that nobody is going to accept it.

Are there other ways Royal Mail are trying to defeat the union? - maybe trying to financially cripple it?

I believe not all would have been a loan. They do have money in the bank covering GLS and Royal Mail if I read it right. Overall they do have access to that amount.
