Tesco pay their staff on the old contracts £20 per hour for Sundays but the new contracted staff are on the normal rate for doing the same job. This is the way we are going. People seem happy nowadays to ruin their family life for a child’s wage.

Totally incorrect, tesco stopped paying double time years ago. All staff get time and a quarter for working Sunday.

Not totally incorrect but you are right on the current time and a quarter it used to be 2x then 1.5x though. New staff joined since July this year is on 1x and not 1.25x.

I think Sunday ot rate was £13.91 PER HOUR as of April 2020. Not sure if it went up since then?

No backlog of parcels in our office. Yorks of letters that Royal Mail don’t care about anyway. Many people working yesterday (Sunday) to clear parcels in the last Sunday before Xmas. Striking means we are trying to maximise the disruption to get an agreement. Losing far too much money now which seems pointless when people consistently work days off, stay out on delivery & work Sundays.

Work this one out. Strike on Wednesday & Thursday, Royal Mail saves £180 worth of wages. Then people stay out 3 hours on the Friday to clear it all. Meaning Royal Mail have just saved 13 hours pay as your frame is now clear. You can’t have your cake and eat it when this is the most bitter dispute we have been involved in.

I’ll take advantage of a long break over Xmas for first time in years but come the new year I won’t be striking any longer.

There’s no chance of a reasonable ‘deal’ to accept with most scuppering any chance of that imo
