Even my managers hold this person in power with contempt. Absolutely untrustworthy. Descriptions from managers include, the cyber bully, pram boy, not in the room-not on this planet man, Mr Negative. When your line managers slate the top guy you know the businesses has lost the plot.

DO NOT CALL OFF THE STRIKE. There's no trust now.

And somehow, this time, I lost something more than money. I lost the love for this good business. Worse than P&O because cyber bully Mr Negative has destroyed a workforce that will never forgive the menace an fear imposed.

Working for Royal Mail right now must almost be the same feeling as being a forced conscripted Russian soldier. Speaking out could see you conducted, same as desertion.

Not really.

It was the CWU that started all this by calling a strike over the pay claim.
With doing that the CWU tore up the legal undertakings in the Agenda For Growth Agreement being a no strike agreement.

Simon Thompson then siezed on the opportunity and went straight in with attacking terms and conditions knowing the CWU could not persue Royal Mail for breach of contract.

Why would Simon Thompson ever agree to legal undertakings that previously bound him in a contractual obligation?

Redlen as you probably know the legal protections meant f all on that agreement. They were being broke before they were ripped up.
The company would of plowed on regardless. The greatest thing to the RM was the big middle finger up to the CWU.Hoping CWU members would be outraged and turn their backs.
Yes agree but neither party did anything about it and remained silent. Now with calling strike action, made official and those legal undertakings at an end

You are always banging on about what you would do if you were in Simon's shoes

What would you have did in the summer if you were in the unions?

You are quick to go on about how the strikes caused this but never so quick to give an alternative
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Didn't the CWU request the Agency workers be stood down in the sense that they aren't kept on in their thousands whilst Royal Mail employees are being made redundant....

Yet Royal Mail has come back and said 'we'll stand them down for the 23rd and 24th'....

WTF. How is that going to move things forward. Stop employing 12,000 agency workers for twice the pay!!

My gut feeling is nobody will get VR and it's all a scare tactic to get us to accept the masses of changes. They will just end up getting rid of agency workers once they have lost this dispute. There's no logic to them employing them on double the pay. It's all a temporary scare tactic!!!!

Talk about spin?

What gives you the Idea Angard are on double pay?

They are on the same as regular substantive staff. The only exception being Sunday night shift I believe.
They are on £15 hr regular nightshift mon-sat &
£22 hr sunday nightshift
(we also have angards going to local DO’s to deliver parcels in vans on sundays and they get £18 hr day rate)

Don’t call off the strike this is the same management TEAM that think we are overpaid and lazy,i pitty my customers with all this backlog and missed items for Christmas but the good will has long gone where I’m concerned,we know we’re going to get battered in the new year with all this executive action so looking forward to the race to the bottom. :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown

Do not call off the strikes.
Bastards can not be trusted.
I agree. This is the damage management have done because now I wouldn’t believe or trust anything they say . However if the union are happy with the way these next set of negotiations go then that’s good enough for me .I only trust the union

Christmas pressure is as good as over already. This is just an open plea to make RM look sincere and genuine. They know CWU will refuse a simple plea. This is just so they can blame the CWU furthermore and make out like RM tried to save Christmas by being diplomatic

So the flip side here is strikes are not called off and then either
a)Royal Mail concedes a bit more, enough for CWU to call strikes off later in week or
b) strikes go ahead and then in the new year the RM board doubles down on its positions. Potentially downgrading current offer or ratcheting up pressure in other areas (like they have done with announcing redundancies and then reducing OT and now enforcing sick pay policy)

If they’re not going to concede or make any concessions now then I’d imagine they won’t be looking to do that in new year. There only incentive to make that deal is now.

New year, other than increased Returns, parcel volumes quickly decline. Easier to deal with and recover from IA backlogs like they did in late summer/early autumn. Casuals will be gone and agency will be dropped to taper down the cost base in line with revenue.

I’m not saying union should call it either way but other than a new ballot, it’s not clear what the gameplay is in a few weeks.

And what is your basic pay including things like night allowance, processing allowence etc?
You will find it is the same as Angard pay after 12 weeks service.

The Royal Mail CONTRACTED christmas casuals get the same

Do people honestly believe Royal Mail are going to agree legally binding undertakings after the CWU gave them a get out of Gaol card with the Agenda For Growth?
Its Royal Mail who are coming off desperate Len.

Notice you have avoided the other thread where you are being ridiculed for, as we all suspected, knowing sweet FA

:left:

Whenever you next say

''thats what I would do if I were them''

we can take it to mean

''thats what I hope happens''
why is it when this tosser (among many others) is on my ignore list do i have to see his anti cwu rantings when someone responds to his inane comments ? :wave :wave :wave :wave
Can you not respond without silly name calling ffs you still in primary school.

Let union decide what best for us
We are the Union. (Or at least those of us subbed up.) It isn't a seperate entity. It is it's members and we have a say and we need to decide what is best for us and most of the people I read on this on forum and those I work with have no trust in RM management anymore and don't want the deals they are currently offering.
