I am pretty sure Thompson said there could be significantly more job losses if we carried on striking. So pot kettle black. The LTB also repeated false assertions by CWU that Royal Mail has plans for “significantly more than 10,000 job losses.” Once again, this is not true and continues to form part of a campaign of lies from CWU leadership to promote fear.
Royal Mail are requesting to go down to a 5 day service which is one example of potential job losses, around 4,000 was the estimate from the CWU. So I don't think the CWU speculating on the potential for significant increases in job losses was fear, it was a logical assumption.
Also - I would not be surprised if more than 10,000 job losses happen due to all the lies that have come from Royal Mail management throughout the dispute.
Buy my gut feeling is this is all coming to an end. Royal Mail are coming to their senses.... we'll see.
