And we all know Absorption doesn't take as long as Lapsing to Deliver!

It's just semantics BN ... Posties are being pressured into taking out more work, taking them longer to deliver, mainly due to Bad Management and Under Staffing. I don't believe anyone's so short of work at this time of the year, plus Strike Back log, that they've got time to Lapse/Absorb ... it's Bolloxs! :cuppa

What's the difference between lapsing and absorption, I thought it was the same thing?

Sounds like the laziest unimaginative revision possible, our duties got tweaked so although they got bigger at least they're all in the same place rather than effectively permanent lapsing.

exactly easiest revision ever give eveyone the lapsing they used to do call it absorption and then we get lapsing back.so we basically have double lapsing now.

Did they keep the original duty fitting or just add some random addresses at the end of your fitting, nowhere near your duty, sounds like a great idea as far as ips is concerned.

no to make ips easier we have to collect from 2 other frames so its mad you have your own frame then the absorbtion frame then if your lapsing you have to take that from another frame.if theres an awkward long winded way of doing things then royal mail are experts in it.

Has any D O got a Christmas pressure deal this year
Dunno what you mean.

I have a start time and a finish time. With some bits of overtime if I want.

Simple.

Yep usual "Christmas Plan 101":

Brown Nosers get an easy ride ..... in early on IPS prep your own duty then stand around with your thumb up your ass until the late truck arrives and then start gobbing off about needing more sorters on IPS so they can get "Their" mail and get out the door! :no no

Biggest Moaners & Whingers ..... get Relief help to take out their "Akward" parcels, i.e anything that needs a signature, anything up stairs or alleyways, addressess where they know nobodies ever in, Non-Tippers. :no no

Majority of Reliable/Hardworking/Conscientious Staff
..... bugger all help :no no

Quiet/ Easy Going Introverts .... harrassed & bullied into taking far more than they should :no no

Mangement:.... Tipping out boxes of mail onto the IPS frame, Laughing & Joking with mates, looking forward to an early knock off. :no no

About usual for a Royal Mail Christmas Cock Up; Catches them out EVERY year! Of course it's even worse this year because the CWU has withdraw co-operation/negotiation so there's not even anyone sensible making suggestions on how to make it more achievable? :arrrghhh

Perhaps this year there's another Group?:

CWU IR Reps: ... definately don't give them ANY help and try to find reassons to suspend them! :cuppa

This is exactly like my office. 😂

Pretty much like my office however we've always had another group for the brown nose favourites, it's taken off your own duty to help with parcels, sounds like a plan eh, but no, in reality do very little whilst moaning that the parcels they're given are too small/why have you banded 3 small ones together? then wander about having a laugh with the manager.
