We had to lose just over 700 hours in our office ( 20 FT staff ) they’ve taken up to now 10 VR’s ,5 naturally going in the next 3/4 months and they reckon people will leave between now and April.. hey Presto .. 700 hours gained.
There not bothered this has no chance of working it’s a cost cutting exercise, the COM has told them numerous times it’s impossible to achieve any targets set he is always greeted with the same response “ just do it “
So you'll have around 20% less staff than you 'should have'.

At a guess I think my depot is between 25-30% understaffed than what's needed with the current/old setup. We have been told that based on the changes RM want to make - we are actually understaffed by 10, so nobody will be getting made redundant.

I take it this will all go ahead...

-The VRs will go ahead where 'needed'.

-I assume parcels are going to be delivered by owner drivers out of hubs.

-Posties will deliver less parcels, but more post....walks will be made longer.

-Based on what I am hearing this will happen end March/early April. VRs will leave and our walks will be so long that we will collapse with fatigue.

Where's the option for "no-one, because Royal Mail were playing us all like a fiddle, but we all clicked the app anyway because our eyes lit up at £6k, and now Simon has loads of data on who, where and how to make Compulsory Redundancies"?
EXACTLY - been saying this for weeks !

Is the poll what you think should happen? Or, what you think will happen?

I voted for the under staffed. I know at least 10 people in my office looking for another job now. With the minium wage going up and ours where it is and where its going and clocking in come and out. You may as well get another job with better hours for you or doesnt punish you for being good at your job.

The vote is for what is actually happening at your depot.

Given how grumpy most of the staff are I don't think any of them are getting it.
And haven't been for years.

Anyone saying VRs are happening on anything other than seniority is either lying or has a lying manager/colleagues
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

How understaffed will your office be in terms of % once these 10 people get VR and leave?

It would depend if the office is a hub or not.
If it isn't and they are about to lose all their large parcels, they might not be understaffed at all.

Seniority in our office, there’s 4 spots and I’m number 5 on the list of people that applied, 2 have taken it, Dom is speaking with the other 2 above me today. Should know Saturday.

No one is getting it. Stop dreaming. If you want another job just leave or you'll be around another ten years.

Surely RM will check the local offices to see if anyone ticket the box where they considered a transfer.

i.e. pay off staff in office A and replace them with office B want aways.
