It'd be no good sending us RSCs as we got rid of our forklift a few years ago. If we start running out of yorks, we'll end up sending the work out to DOs on pallets and it'll be down to the COMs to make sure that they have got pallet trucks. It'd be no good them sending anything back to the MC as it'd be sent straight back to them without being unloaded as there'd be no where to unload it to. Some of the larger DOs have probably got more storage space than our MCwandle wrote: ↑04 Dec 2022, 15:46The backlog is causing some RDCs to run out of Yorks. Customers sending work in on pallets, because we can’t supply Yorks. Those pallets, as soon as we start processing them, soak up all available Yorks. If we choose not to process the pallets, they take up valuable processing space.

Equally you can ban people who claim RM are intentionally burning us to the ground. Or accusing everyone who is not totally against Simon to be a manager. Or telling people who have stated they are struggling to pay the bills that “you must never break the picket!”guardianangel wrote: ↑04 Dec 2022, 21:54Well said ,but i wont sit back and listen to people spouting off and spreading propaganda on here that the strike is failing, the union is losing momentum, royal mail will win ,im going back to work, maybe you could ban them for undermining the strike,if you want to go back to work go back, dont come on here looking for exeptence or sympathy 97 % will not accept it.
Iv been called a sc**, scu*bag, rat, thief and iv been told I should be blanked at work and even not shown the courtesy of having a door kept open for me or a lift to work or to swap my days off. Iv also been told my family should be ashamed of me.
Iv heard people say that ST is acting like a nazi and that the picketeers are fighting for our futures as if Putins army itself is heading towards our offices.
I must admit that since those comments and lack of empathy I do tend to be contrary now. Hearing that some posties are intentionally leaving nhs letters and dragging their heels and almost gleeful they are bringing mail back and frothing at the mouth that offices are piling up with sacks of packets is appalling IMO.
Sure, go on strike, but when you go to work you should do the best you can. If not for the managers and ST then for the public who’s backing we all rely on.
There are probably lots of postmen who are really struggling financially right now, as many are in 2022, and they are probably too scared to go to work because of how they will be treated. That’s more shameful than anyone who decides to break the picket line to guarantee they don’t lose their house or be able to put food on the table.

If we lose this dispute, it's probably a fair bet that RM will try and get rid of ALL allowances. If people are struggling now, how will they cope if RM ever did get rid of ALL allowances? depending on what allowances someone gets, that could potentially be a significant pay cut

No swear words, but its a jobs market out there,if people are in such a bad financial position they could always leave (that's what i would do) if you go back to work RM will steamroller everything through and you will be poorer than ever worked harder than ever so whats the point in staying if your not prepared to fight, don't be one of those selfish people who go back in just for the money then find out you'll lose everything in the job and then leave because your not happy with it and have no money anyway and lose friends over it,but in the end we all have different outlooks and priorities in life, money comes and goes but i have had enough of the sheer selfishness of people in this world.Solidarity to all my fellow posties who go through the struggle everyday in the hope of one day having a better and brighter future for us all.FilthyBloke wrote: ↑05 Dec 2022, 01:51Equally you can ban people who claim RM are intentionally burning us to the ground. Not asking anyone to not argue against striking, or to argue against them. But what I am asking is to do it without jeopardizing either your employment or the continuance of this site.guardianangel wrote: ↑04 Dec 2022, 21:54Well said ,but i wont sit back and listen to people spouting off and spreading propaganda on here that the strike is failing, the union is losing momentum, royal mail will win ,im going back to work, maybe you could ban them for undermining the strike,if you want to go back to work go back, dont come on here looking for exeptence or sympathy 97 % will not accept it.
We will never ban anyone with a different opinion than the majority of members on here. That's against the tenants of democracy and the qualified right to free speech. In my opinion, an Echo Chamber is far more dangerous than an open free discussion where everyone can exchange views in a grown-up way.
Most people who post contrary views are not looking for acceptance or sympathy. Still, if we don't allow them to air their opinions and perspective, then we risk becoming nothing more than a nodding shop where everyone agrees with each other. Then we run the risk of once again being called "Knuckle dragging Loony left militants", though I do miss Postmanchat for their absurd threads. they were a mild version of Simons Workplace but not quite as prolific posters as perhaps he is.

Re: Are some of you trying to get us shut down. Last warning. Bans may result.
I posted the following a few weeks back, but it got a bit lost among some heated discussions:
The reminder about forum rules has become necessary due to obvious reasons, yet I think a further qualification is needed.
The situation isn't as straightforward as respecting others' opinions. What we've been experiencing are posts that are designed to antagonise others and to provoke a response (and the angrier the better). Yes, trolls should be ignored. Yes, individuals seemingly against the orthodoxy shouldn't be insulted. But during stressful times this is easier said than done.
Yet we're also being distracted by desperately trying to keep our emotions in check and, worse, having a go at one another. What is actually going on is akin to someone infiltrating a group that they not only don't belong to but to which they are also vehemently opposed. Imagine a forum for ardent atheists that a deeply relgious person joins and offers their views. Or one for meat lovers/producers that has found a vegan in its midst. (Reverse this scenarios too, of course). In these cases the problem is nothing to do with someone simply having a different opinion. The problem is that any post made by such a person offers nothing constructive. It doesn't matter at all who's right or wrong (even if that can be determined). There's no point in the post. No point apart from winding people up and perversely getting a kick out of it.
There might be better forum examples than those above, but I think what I mean should be pretty clear.
So, the rules and guidelines surely should include something about such infiltration, especially if the harm caused to others is much worse than the harm caused by name calling. Granted, it seems more subtle (and much harder to regulate), but arguably infiltrator comments can attack others' identities quite severely. When's the best time for such an infiltrator to up the ante? When others are feeling anxious and feel their livelihood is being threatened, of course.
Sorry for the length of this message!
