Here's a radical idea to stop all this happening instantly!!!! Why don't we all work alone?? Who'd a thought it..
A manager on workplace dared to suggest 2 man van's don't work, are inefficient, said we more productive when everyone worked alone ...
Everyone working along with their own van will never happen, leaving aside the fact that not everyone can drive it'd be way too expensive to be running that many vans. The running costs of the existing vans must be very high overall as it is
Working alone will happen if RM get their way,it’s called “owner driver”,Gig Economy is just around the corner.

If that were to happen then RM would expect EVERYONE to be able to drive

It's a shame PDA actuals can't be used for conduct issues though, given the number of posties who do take the piss and drag their feet.

I frequently see the regular postie who delivers to my area sat in his van or stood on the street chatting for 20-30 minutes at a time to someone, he's actually quite notorious for being a relentless chatterbox and I know some residents who actively avoid him so they don't get stuck with him gabbing away to them for ages.

His duty must be far too small or he's possibly booking extended every day for going over his time, either way it's a piss take.

Here's a revolutionary idea in the age of net zero bxllox. Why don't we have dedicated parcel van deliveries and do letters on bikes?

nobodys suggesting one van each simply that it worked before van share.so now were looking at dedicated parcel dutys well we already had that before.let walkers walk and drivers drive mix the two and it dont work.

The letter only route would be about 1500 calls now (or more)

We’ve got one at our place, cuts off every day and then spends half of his round chatting, especially to females. And never takes oversize out :arrrghhh

Since I left RM I regularly see one postie from my old office parked up and reading a book. Usually it's about an hour before the finish time and he is parked up on his route back, a couple of miles from his duty.

It's been known he's being doing it for years, but now I've seen the proof. Second or third most senior in office and a manager's favourite. At the last revision he even had work taken off the duty.

At least on a bike you didn't have to walk past all the 'gaps' in the frame. Used to fly round on a slack Tuesday.

Hope he doesn't take his oversize out if he's chatting to the ladies.

How do you know he's not taking his meal relief?
