As far as the subject goes… I rarely knock on neighbours anymore unless they offer & know recipient.
Otherwise it’s just an annoyance for both parties so I don’t bother

Unless you know card it some people are good neighbours but most are not these days. Not worth the abuse you get for just doing your own job while those in ivory towers of the sunny uplands!

Any hesitation with a neighbour and that’s it. I don’t leave it and I say OK and docket the customer. I ain’t leaving anything with someone who indicates they don’t want it then give me a roll of the eyes and a “Tsk all right then..sigh!!”

RM should get both neighbours to sign some form to indicate that they give permission ot take something in for their neighbour, which could then be added to the walk log. Any without a signed form, get carded. No problems then dealing with neighbours

I rarely leave anything with people's neighbours. I haven't got the time, don't want to bother people, and in any case, I'm not going the extra mile for a company that's been trying to shaft me since my first day on the job.

Most of us can’t even get managers to reply to annual leave requests or update the mech so they aren’t sharing it with 2 other rounds. There’s not a chance we’d be handing out forms, explaining them to customers who can’t even process the info on a P739, hand said filled cards back to managers. Plus each walk log would need updating weekly as people move out, pass away or fall out with neighbours.

Are we supposed to save up parcels or do them one at a time?

On one street I deliver on average I deliver 3 parcels per day and one kind neighbour doesn't mind taking in parcels. Should I knock each house and then visit the neighbour and then rewalk the street to deliver P739's or should I do each one individually and knock the neighbour's house 3 times or should I try different neighbours?

It sounds a silly question but the problem crops in various degrees a couple of times per day and will be most loops when it gets to Christmas.

you should only hand over parcels if you know the person who it's for isn't in and they want their neighbour to take it in, speaking as a postie and a customer. the addressee may not be on friendly terms with the person offering to take it. if you're not sure dib it.

I absolutely do not get on with my next door neighbour. I've told my postie I don't want my stuff going there and to take it back if they can't deliver it. I will make my own arrangements so I don't have to deal with neighbour, because of problems with stalking and harassment from said neighbour. I've told postie to leave it in a safeplace before but had to make an arrangement to collect it from his frame when he's prepping as neighbour, and I kid you not, told me she saw postie leaving it (in my safeplace) and SHE wasn't comfortable with it being there in case other neighbours came onto my property and stole it.

She then went onto my property, took it in, and didn't bother telling me she had it.

I only found out she had it when my missus saw her moaning about taking peoples stuff in for them on social media.
