Which depot? All of them? :left:
Perhaps it's Royal Mail FM! :left: Just like those crappy stations you get in Supermarkets? You know you're a really crap DJ when you can only get a job with TESCO FM! Perhaps Simple Simon would be up for it .... he spends enough time withering away on Wankspace! :cuppa
Like all Wage Slaves, he had two crosses to bear: The people he worked for and the people he worked with! (Stephen Vizinczey.)

Hi all - just wondering ...does anyone know what radio station it is that is played in the depots?
Many thanks in advance - it's usually on too quiet in my office, so don't get to hear any speaking, just snippets of songs 😀

Thanks in advance. X
Everywhere I've worked including RM it was radio 2, I thought it must be a standard workplace "unwritten rule"

We have some god awful golden oldies station on.

Same 60s and 70s songs every morning. It's torture.

I think I'll sneakily change it to 6 music or Absolute at least.

We get absolute on or 6 or whatever else we can get away with, sometimes other stuff.
Oldies or some of the others often abject to music that either isn’t:
a) run of the mill pop
b) songs they haven’t heard a million times before
C) anything outside of the 60/70/80’s…

Wait wait wait. ONE GUY has barny over it so he's allowed to turn it off?

Sounds like a bit of a tosser tbh.

I've worked with some right manchildren in my life but this takes the biscuit.

Is the radio right beside his prep frame?

The reason I ask is because there was a member of staff in our office who used to come from the other side of the DO to turn the radio up as he couldn't hear it. Not considering how loud it was for those close to it. It p!ssed the guy near the radio off so much one day he threw the radio in the bin.
Yeah that would pxxs me right off too! Amazing how inconsiderate some people really are. If you want to listen to music, then bring some headphones.

I think if someone actually needs music in the background to function, then it is they who need help. The worst is when someone has local commercial radio on, now that is blooming annoying!!
COMMERCIAL RADIO Arghhhhhh! How can anyone stand that crap especially when you're trying to concentrate on something, not everyone is on their own regular frame prepping.

As a compromise , we have Smooth FM on, which has a horribly narrow playlist. As awful as it is, it does lighten the mood in the DO. It`s better than silence (just).

I can remember back in the day we had 2 radios playing at once, younger generation prefered more dance, hip hop music and older generation played classic hits.

Ours is a constant running battle between staff and managers, as somebody has usually turned up a track they like to the point it drowns the managers out. It got to the point one manager screamed "leave the f***ing radio alone" after she'd marched across the office about 5 times to turn it down. It's greatest hits radio, which ain't my bag but it's worth it for the spectacle alone.

In our section we have radio 2 on which most people are ok with. What I like is it tends to drown out the bloke in the aisle behind who can’t stop talking !!
