Radio on in the delivery office

I think if someone actually needs music in the background to function, then it is they who need help. The worst is when someone has local commercial radio on, now that is blooming annoying!!

We have one who thinks the radio belongs to her - turns the volume right up - pain in the backside for people working close by.

There is always one isn't there !

Ours is stuck on low volume (thankfully) all u can hear is a low bass line but you can sometimes make out which song is playing.

One radio in our office, and the owner chooses the music, Absolute 80's with its six tracks in constant rotation. Very irritating.

Years ago we had a lad who used to act as "The DJ". We had a massive collection of those Free CDs that they used to give away with EVERYTHING, plus anything that Posties had brought in. He just used to pick one at random and stick it in the CD player. IF there was a roar of dissapproval he'd just stick another one in!

Personally I wear my own headsets and listen to what I choose. The Radio's just a noise in the background .... unfortunately I can still hear some of the Gobshites over the top of it.

Had I not had IHR I would have had to retire on mental health grounds. I endured 4 sodding years of that dreadful Heart FM for 2 hours each morning. I realized quite soon that the station had only access to about 100 different tracks and don't get me started on December where they recycled the stale old Christmas songs repeatedly. I used to change the station in the office sometimes and some would change it back to H***t FM again. When I asked why, I was told it had local traffic reports on it.

I bet 3 years on people are still enduring the same Ed Sheeran and Adele tracks which I now have a pathological hatred for. In the afternoon the 'playlist' would resort to old 'classics' and when fleeing for my car to go home I would invariably be followed by the strains of Starship's 'We Built This City' or Yazz and 'The Only Way Is Up' (babeeee'). I may be a middle-aged bloke but I have the hand speed of Joe Calzaghe when it comes to silencing any audio devices near to me if those b*stard tracks even strike up their first note.

As a hard rock fan its a pain listening to Heart FM all night on shift, not only is the music bland the ads drive you mad

I agree. Heart is fuc king sh ite. Sometimes, I'm that pissed off when I get home, I put on some Clash, Pistols, Buzzcocks, Damned, Stranglers etc, very loud to get that s**t out of my system. I'd rather have radio silence than that crap

I like the radio and most people do, but not that bothered too much either way, I don’t mind going without it if it’s really upsetting someone. Think it could be a sign of poor mental health and he needs help but not sure how to approach him.
Any ideas how to resolve this?

Surely depends on what radio station you listen to ?

Most people in our office want the radio on....and loud...I have had several years of working next to a radio which has played havoc with my tinnitus...told managers ...told reps...all treated it as a bit of a joke..it isn't...all these people who like the radio being played loudly...not one of them wanted it near their fitting when our manager finally did something about it and moved it...selfish pr#cks the lot of them and both the manager and CWU rep out of tune with how bad this issue can be for some people like me and many others!

agree - commercial radio is poor compared with the excellence of say Radio 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 music. No need to suffer adverts and "text to win " competions.
