Welcome Facts&Ideas - I think strike is the last thing on everybody's mind, we are ready to accept change at least I am but when RM say they listen to their people and then offer us a non pay rise with loads of impractical strings that we must accept, and those dodgy shares they go on about but we cant get at for 5 years. Then tell us were overpaid and under worked, I for one am not going to roll over for them.

Change yes but get us on side and talk to us, don't impose them with EA and tie it into a pay rise.

Welcome grover6912 - clocking in machines wouldn't work in my office unless the door did not open until you clocked in. If not they'd still come in early and clock in at the right time :d'oh!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

There are too many selfish posties rushing around cutting corners, they are ruining the job for the majority of us that are trying to do the job properly, unfortunately not any solidarity anymore

Welcome fleecy - my feeling is that its starting to change as RM have shot themselves in the foot with this pay offer. Plenty at my office are now refusing to do docket and are doing the job by RM rules.

Most people that I work with acknowledge that the quickest way to bring RM to it's knees would be to refuse to do overtime.
However as some people earn more money in overtime than basic wage that isn't likely to happen.

If the union doesn't get a resounding YES vote then I'll be looking for another job.

Vote No and you are voting for 4+ hour deliveries (every day including Saturday's)
More junk (leaflets) - less mail
Minimum wage pay and workhouse conditions

Call centres may pay less but they take health and safety seriously - and overtime is not mandatory.

What seems to be working in my office. Is that we stick to the 11 hour rule. Where you must have a break of eleven hours between each duty. This is a thorn in the managers side, because it only allows the O/T Boys to do half a walk. Any more and we fine them a 1000 hours. Iy is so nice to see managers doing a Delivery.
How many more times do i have to tell you. F**K off. . I'll go on the sorting when im ready
