My guess is the £500 will get paid next week and the back money more likely on the 28th which means 17 weeks worth.
Something to look forward too. If there is one good thing about a strike, it is the back pay and any lump sums due.
The public sectors workers are all been given a 6% rise too, policemen, junior doctors and teachers, so we posties have done not bad, considering 6% rise now, on top of the 2% rise we got in April too.
Did all those other you jobs mentioned have their terms and conditions slashed as well gor their 6% ?

True. Someone I know got an 8% pay rise last year because their company was profitable. Our company was profitable due to the pandemic and we got f**k all

We only get pay rises if we accept changes.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

That is why the majority of us need to be Unionised. We all call them, but imagine what it would be like if there was no Union?

Dear Colleagues
Following discussions with Royal Mail Group, we are now able to confirm the relevant dates for pay increases and lump sums linked to the endorsement of the Business Recovery, Transformation and Growth Agreement.
PAY
The 6% increase will be paid on Friday
4 August, including arrears backdated to 3 April 2023. Monthly paid colleagues (excluding Fleet and PFSL) will receive their increase and arrears in July salaries (pay date Monday 31
July)
The pay increase applies to base pay, overtime, scheduled attendance, basic pay supplements, functional supplements, skills, and unsocial hours allowances (except RRIS legacy and reserved rights payments),
London weighting and Scottish Distant
Islands Allowance.

£500 LUMP SUM
The one-off £500 lump sum will be paid to members in Royal Mail, PFW and support functions (excluding PFSL and Fleet) on Friday 29 September.
£900 LUMP SUM (minimum)
In addition, the one-off lump sum payment of at least £900 will be paid on Friday 29 September.
The exact amount will depend on the precise number of emplovees at the time of the payment but will be at least £900 per employee. This payment will also be received by Fleet and PFSL members.
This means a total lump sum payment of at least £1,400 will be paid on Friday
29 September (pro-rated for part-time employees)

I have it on good authority they are trying to speed at least one of the lump sums ups.
Whether this happens remains to be seen, but we are definitely getting the money either way, despite rumours to the opposite effect.

This. RM would have just imposed all the changes, compulsory Sunday working, taking away all allowances etc.

People have every right to leave the Union if they are unhappy but its very existence alone is significant.
