The LTB also repeated false assertions by CWU that Royal Mail has plans for “significantly more than 10,000 job losses.” Once again, this is not true and continues to form part of a campaign of lies from CWU leadership to promote fear.
I am pretty sure Thompson said there could be significantly more job losses if we carried on striking. So pot kettle black.

Royal Mail are requesting to go down to a 5 day service which is one example of potential job losses, around 4,000 was the estimate from the CWU. So I don't think the CWU speculating on the potential for significant increases in job losses was fear, it was a logical assumption.

Also - I would not be surprised if more than 10,000 job losses happen due to all the lies that have come from Royal Mail management throughout the dispute.

Buy my gut feeling is this is all coming to an end. Royal Mail are coming to their senses.... we'll see.

Not really.

It was the CWU that started all this by calling a strike over the pay claim.
With doing that the CWU tore up the legal undertakings in the Agenda For Growth Agreement being a no strike agreement.

Simon Thompson then siezed on the opportunity and went straight in with attacking terms and conditions knowing the CWU could not persue Royal Mail for breach of contract.

Why would Simon Thompson ever agree to legal undertakings that previously bound him in a contractual obligation?

Do people honestly believe Royal Mail are going to agree legally binding undertakings after the CWU gave them a get out of Gaol card with the Agenda For Growth?
Its Royal Mail who are coming off desperate Len.

Notice you have avoided the other thread where you are being ridiculed for, as we all suspected, knowing sweet FA

:left:

Whenever you next say

''thats what I would do if I were them''

we can take it to mean

''thats what I hope happens''
why is it when this tosser (among many others) is on my ignore list do i have to see his anti cwu rantings when someone responds to his inane comments ? :wave :wave :wave :wave

Simon can refuse to agree anything if he wants.

The strikes will continue.

As far as I can see, its him and the board sending letters pleading for the strikes to end without committing to anything themselves.
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Why the hell would I want to save Christmas for Royal Mail.

I've not lost upwards of six hundred quid fighting this to then go in and be told to work my ass off to save Christmas. It's beyond saving. I am going to spend the next week working my hours, watching piles of mail go undelivered. It's the only chance to get them on the ropes. As a company they aren't going to collapse and maybe a managers few heads might roll because of the fiasco.

It would be a catastrophic failure on the part of the Union to cancel these strikes. The job is more than just Christmas its 365. Let the management see in the new year just what a farce they have presided over and see if they can come to there senses.

I know its mostly about T&C now but I for one think the so called 9% offer is an insult -and what about annualised hours , later start times and the rest of the crap they want to impose we don't wan't some Mickey Mouse deal hatched just to save Christmas. We want a proper deal.

And, (bad way to start a sentence I know) if anyone has booked to do something on the strike dates good on you. We all deserve a good rest after the last few months and anyone that doesn't agree can cross the picket line and work themselves in to the ground to save Royal Mails Christmas and see what thanks they get.

Didn't the CWU request the Agency workers be stood down in the sense that they aren't kept on in their thousands whilst Royal Mail employees are being made redundant....

Yet Royal Mail has come back and said 'we'll stand them down for the 23rd and 24th'....

WTF. How is that going to move things forward. Stop employing 12,000 agency workers for twice the pay!!

My gut feeling is nobody will get VR and it's all a scare tactic to get us to accept the masses of changes. They will just end up getting rid of agency workers once they have lost this dispute. There's no logic to them employing them on double the pay. It's all a temporary scare tactic!!!!

Talk about spin?

What gives you the Idea Angard are on double pay?

They are on the same as regular substantive staff. The only exception being Sunday night shift I believe.

It wouldn't make any difference in my office if they called off the strikes next week, we'd never manage to clear the backlog in time now. Too little, too late RM. Should've thought of that before their last final offer. I imagine ST thought we would have given up by now.

Redlen as you probably know the legal protections meant f all on that agreement. They were being broke before they were ripped up.
The company would of plowed on regardless. The greatest thing to the RM was the big middle finger up to the CWU.Hoping CWU members would be outraged and turn their backs.
