My crewbus driver 17 years ago still had his blue bag. I must ask him if he uses it to this day.

To the best of my knowledge the red ones were introduced around 1995. You can see a mix of blue and red in use in this video from 1997. The old old canvas satchels were still kicking about into the 90s too in certain corners.
