If immigrants are so valuable financially why doesn't every country in Europe (if not the West) cry out for more of them, and why do those same countries warehouse those immigrants often far away from all that work they could be doing?
The country does cry out for them. Ignore your copy of the mail engage your brain and research birth rates for this country. They are at record low levels. We have managed to allow the wealthy to plunder this country to such a degree that working poor folks can’t afford to have children any more.
We have also managed to make it impossible for the kids actually being born here to get an education due to the crippling finances involved. So the population is getting older, we have no trained people coming in because immigration = bad and nobody capable of filling vital roles in society.

The thing that unthinking, virtue signalling simpletons can't seem to grasp is that the ONLY reason we've had mass immigration for the last 2 decades is because the avaricious and exploitative corporations and the parasitic rentier establishment want it because they and THEY ALONE profit massively from it.
With devalued labour, suppressed wages, eroded workers right AND increased demand for accommodation it's a win-win for them, they love the idea of a whole class of workers who are little more than slaves earning often illegally low pay with abysmal Employee T&C's and all living in squalid, fetid overcrowded HMO's.

I think you will find that those of us on the ‘liberal left’ are as angry at the corporations exploiting this slave labour as anyone on the right. We also acknowledge the hypocrisy of those on the right blaming brown immigrants for their drain on the country all the while supporting rich white oligarchs who wash their dirty money in this country while buying up property for overseas i.e foreign investors.
Foreigners now own our industries, be it water or energy, they run down the infrastructure, claim poverty so as to rise bills for us all, yet still pay their directors millions and send billions of pounds overseas. And yet people are bemoaning asylum seekers taking up rooms in a shitty hotel. Wake up.

I'm pretty sure 4 star hotels and wedding venues aren't "shitty" and the millions of pounds per day being spent on accommodating so called "asylum seekers" in them is just another example of the huge wealth transfer scam taking place where by corporations and rentiers are profiteering from mass immigration.
