Yeah the pressures on the hierarchy now to come up with a stronger hourly rate for anyone on the new contract.. so currently we are on £12.70 odd and with the minimum wage at 12.20 very soon something has to change.. being on the new contract we have no door to door supplement and also don't get paid for breaks and finally working sundays for the flat rate sometimes working only 4 hours... it's about time anyone on a new contract is leveled up to those who have been there on the old one and receiving more..so much for every postperson is the same.

Nobody gets a door to door supplement? Nobody forced you to accept the job you must have known Sunday's was a flat rate like it tends to be at most employers these days, levelling up is never going to happen, it's far more likely they'll be levelling down, sadly.

With the 2% increase in NI payments then that's 7/8% increase for a business apparently already losing £1m a day or at best now breaking even?

There'll come a point where enough staff on "legacy" contracts will have left that when RM factor in any employment tribunal costs it'll be cheap enough to force anyone on a "legacy" contract onto one of the newer contracts

No they don’t. The delivery supplement you speak of has nothing to do with D2Ds.

They actually receive the supplement for sorting IPS, prepping and delivering duties mail, parcels and d2ds,basically for working in a delivery office, it's not just for d2ds that's not true but it seems to be a royal mail myth that refuses to disappear. The delivery supplement was introduced the same time as d2d payments finished, afaik part of the delivery supplement was financed by removing the d2d payment so that's where the thinking came from.

Yes we had to agree to lose d2d payments as part of whatever 'deal' we signed all those years ago I remember making an extra £130 a week sometimes and that was 15 years ago
