It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

To be fair closing someone’s bank account for political reasons is a big no no and now she has resigned. I fully agree with him on the other points though these CEOs always get off easy.

Had they been up front about the reason I wouldn't have had a problem with it, a bank like any other company should be free to make its own ethical decisions on who it has as a customer.

The issue is they got themselves in a mess telling porkies.

I disagree especially when such bank is still 38% owned by the taxpayer. I mean what other excuses could they use to de bank somebody? Voting Tory? Not believing trans women are women you open a huge hole. Over ten thousand people have accounts closed with NatWest without explanation this now has just opened a huge can of worms.

Coutts can’t even say they only provide services for so called good people when they’ve provided murderous dictators and criminals with bank accounts.

She should of been prosecuted like all the other ceo's who'd probably actually get away with murder under this corrupted Tory government and weak Labour opposition, the elitists run this country,we had the chance to fight back and bottled it,the weak workers get what they deserve.

So you agree that someone can refuse someone a service because they don't agree with their views or ethics? isn't that what happened to the Jews in nazi Germany?

It happened to Muslim organisations here and no one made a fuss about it.

Yes.
Do you think you should be forced to offer a service to absolutely anyone regardless of their views or ethics or how extreme they may be?

No.
That's a f***ing embarrassing comment to make on a public forum.

Why the eff is it embarrassing, the nazis denied the Jews basic needs, the bank was trying to deny Farage a basic need ie a bank account, if this happened to Starmer you would be frothing at the mouth, the hateful left at their best.

Oh the drama..
There are many other banks.
He has just experienced what most of us go through a good few times in our lives when trying to join a club, obtain credit or even apply to open a bank account.

That snooty "you're not really our type" narrative.
It's just a shock to him because he's f***ing around with the rich boys and feeing embarrassed.
the hateful left at their best.
Yes the hateful left are famous for championing the freedom of business to decide who they do business with.

Only a personal account though, not a business account

The Net is full of those ridiculous comments, like "it's only Farage, serves him right", "banks can choose who they want as customers" and "he can go elsewhere if he wants" which only goes to prove the World of Stupid gets bigger by the day.
As has been said above, imagine the furore had it been a figure on the Left.

It's rather strange to hear the right champion government interference in business.

Next you'll be saying pubs should be banned from putting racist dolls on display.

Mr Farage has a media profile and is able to make it front page news,I've no doubt there's loads been in the same boat but as 'nobodys' havnt been able to get anywhere. Hopefully now it's more widely known those others may get their problem addressed. What views did Mr Farage hold that were so bad his bank kicked him out?
