are your reps trying to sell you the deal?
ours are. our unit rep was dead against this deal last week. now, he's going round the office on a ''whisper campaign'' trying to get people to see the deal the unions way. its as if he's been brainwashed. invasion of the bodysnatchers comes to mind. we've had CWU newsflashes on gate meetings, Zoom meetings with the link to view it. branch officials are coming out to ''explain'' the deal. its actually embarrassing to witness. they are almost begging us to vote yes. on the union whatsapp group theres been a questions and answers session. they are saying the delay to the vote will add a further 350 odd quid to the 500 quid lump sum. giving us 850 in back money!! a dangled carrot if ever there was one. they've also stated that a ''no vote' will mean RM will remove the 1.6 billion pound loan from the table thereby putting the company into administration, financial scaremongering, and blackmail of a sort. one lad asked are the EVRs coming back on the table? as lots of us just want out. yes was the answer, BUT not at the 2yrs pay previously agreed. its now down to 24 grand, the ill health is a maximum of 30 week (inc P.I.L.O.N) how the hell they expect people to vote for all this crap is beyond me but they are f***ing well trying, aye are they.

Ward and Fury aren’t even selling us the deal. I thought they’d have done a YouTube sesh running through the thing once it was announced but no. Tells you everything.

Re: are your reps trying to sell you the deal?
They are CWU representatives.
If they don't toe the party line, then shouldn't they resign their position?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

they are entitled to put their own views out, not just a scripted pile of propaganda shite. ive always been union through and through clash but this is absolutely disgraceful.

Re: are your reps trying to sell you the deal?
No, it is their job to represent and look after the union members. An ounce of integrity would be nice from them.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑27 Apr 2023, 19:53They are CWU representatives.

No rep should be telling you what to vote for. Yes they can advise but we all have brains on what we decide to vote for.

Re: are your reps trying to sell you the deal?
can someone please explain what a rep is? i've seen ours perhaps 4 or 5 times since last august, and only once on picket line
like others, my subs will be stopped once ballot paper arrives, we know we won't get a better turd of a deal but jeez, have the leaders sold us out,
i'd even vote yes if they all walked out without a pay off, the job is lost forever i'm afraid

Re: are your reps trying to sell you the deal?
Yes I agree. But some of these reps would rather sell their own grandma's than resign their position and go back to walking the streets.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑27 Apr 2023, 19:53They are CWU representatives.

Which only goes to show how bad things have gone on deliveries
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
