When your shoes arrived in the first place, how did they come......signed for? Or just as a normal packet? Also, did you tell the person in the "royal mail office" what the value of your parcel was,or just assume he would guess?angrycustomer wrote:Hey all, so I purchased a pair of £265 shoes from Gucci ITALY, and they were the wrong size. After discussion through email with Gucci, they was happy for me to exchange the shoes for a smaller size.
So I walked into a royal mail office with the the parcel and told the the person I need to send this package to Italy, I am not familiar with sending parcels and the like and the person did not offer me no recorded delivery etc,

Well the shoes did show up at Gucci, and to be honest I didn't doubt my faith in the postal services at all
Please, accept my sincere apologies, to all whom I hastily accused.

So, after all it was probably that "Due to the heavy snowfall in Italy, especially in the Northern part of the country, some delays in mail forwarding and delivery (parcel and letter mail products) are likley", and 45 angry posts on here have been made while the snow's thawed.angrycustomer wrote:Well the shoes did show up at Gucci, and to be honest I didn't doubt my faith in the postal services at all![]()

And have you had time to think what you might spend the £265 on instead ?

Probably mostly the delays were due to Post Italiane (the Italian Postal Operator) being what they are, as others have pointed out in earlier posts...Lounge Lizard wrote:So, after all it was probably that "Due to the heavy snowfall in Italy, especially in the Northern part of the country, some delays in mail forwarding and delivery (parcel and letter mail products) are likley", and 45 angry posts on here have been made while the snow's thawed.angrycustomer wrote:Well the shoes did show up at Gucci, and to be honest I didn't doubt my faith in the postal services at all![]()

My organization sends to Italy and things can take up to a month, that is if they arrive at all... A lot of our Italian Customers seem grudgingly aware of their postal service's limitations (apparently a high number of lost/stolen parcels) and proactively request signed-for/tracked services.
To the OP - glad to hear it all worked out. Hopefully you've learned that when posting in future to make sure that the service chosen meets your needs in terms of speed/tracking and compensation available.

And you used to be a postie, right?TeeferTiger wrote:Now, if you'd said New Look buying esgidiau newydd, then I'd be suspicious that you were following me... But I don't go out shopping on a weekend, for the simple fact that I can't stand the public
Did you used to run if someone came to open the door for a parcel?
Or just leave the PDA or paper thingy for them to sign by the doorstep and run back to the path for protection, then go back to collect it once they go back inside?

I just do voluntary work now. I still have to be nice to people, but they're generally much nicer back!
