Scargill was a tanky / trot a very dangerous breed , this is the problem of real politik with Unions . There would have been militancy & bad feeling going back to the hated private coal owners prior to Nationalization .borders wrote:wasnt aimed at you , i dont think NT needs you to hold his hand for him.Night Tonic wrote:Blimey, last tme I had a comment with such insight was in primary school.
The danger is that the activists / rank & file can get understandably disenchanted with the " corrupt right " , however with the more "militant" alternative , it CAN be a case of the Pied Piper calling the tune , and the Pied Piper is really looking after number one AND there's things that the " corrupt right " for all their obvious shortcomings would never do due to expediency .
Unfortunately Baroness Barmy was trying to have her own Right Wing revolution at the time and it NEARLY came off , so there simply wouldn't be room in the country for Arthur trying to have a Marxist one .
What New Labour tried
to do initially with the " third way " is get rid of all this polarization & pendulum politics and try and neutralize the Tory Party .
I'll probably get flamed but that's real politics unless people want to get their AK 47's out
