Woody in most circumstances I would be inclined to agree with you regarding the silent majority. I personally voted no but I'm not gonna criticise anyone who voted yes- but i genuinely think most decided to vote yes - not because its a good deal , but rather the fact that the Cwu are now finished as we know it. To stand back and allow executive action to be taken while they had a signed agreement to pause realignments was the final nail in the coffin and unfortunately RM will now do whatever like whenever they like from now on

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Agreed it's not the end result I thought we'd be getting after 18 days of strike action and the solidarity gained from the previous ballots but there we are. The members have spoken and we must accept the new Terms and conditions. I feel the lump sum should have been the same amount for both FT & PT.
Just be thankful most of us are perched on the better tier (for now) of what will soon become a multi-tiered workforce.

Brilliant news really. The dispute is over.
The job ain’t what it used to be and changes will continue to come. But all in all an expected outcome to a toxic dispute.

Re: The vote is in : 75.8% yes
Based on the turnout and % of yes votes just over 50.86% of eligible voters said yes, the others said no/didn't vote,
so it's hardly a ringing endorsement for this deal!

Is there a choice then? Can you refuse to accept it , or can you negotiate your own deal.LouBarlow wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 17:01I’m sure you will still be pocketing the lump sum and pay rise happily enough though?worktotime wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 16:52just emailed them to cancel , i might as well save myself £14 a month and fight my own corner like i always have done , cwu all talk and no action![]()

What with 75% plus yes vote ,woody was right saying the silent majority, can't be heard for the noise of the minority.
