Re: Update about colleague shares?
Sorry to put a dampner on this little positive step(56p...instead of nothing...from a high of £2 ish).If the value was 56p in October...thus people who left got that value. Then people(who still are employed) seem to think that they will get the October value.I doubt it since the upto date value is nothing.

Re: Update about colleague shares?
There was no October value...the shares were not valued on a month to month basis.
They were £2.00 at the previous valuation in September and "unlikely to have any value" at the latest valuation in April.
So.....where does the 56p come from....and why?
It's not as if those who left after the September valuation were expecting anything.

I don't think he meant in an actual physical sense "where did that come from" - more of a question of how did they reach the 56p valuation and why. Is there any outsude influence etc....

Re: Update about colleague shares?
I think it may be an attempt to subdue criticism and quite frankly disbelief that the shares could one week be worth £2 and the following week....nothing.
No company loses value that quickly so we may see ever decreasing payments made to leavers between November and now until the value reaches zero.
I think it's just an attempt to head off any difficult questions and any potential independent "opening up" of the books.

Re: Update about colleague shares?
So now it looks like the shares are being paid out, does that mean the other talks are still going on about the mail centre closures, especially in London, or is that it? So what about the new business plan? I am getting peed off with the silence, if they are still talking, why don't the union just put a note out at the end of the week "saying talks are continuing, nothing to report at the moment"?

Why? Simply because they take the membership for granted and fail to communicate anything even if it is a negative the membership deserve to know.

Re: Update about colleague shares?

The November leavers are getting 56p a share...that doesn't mean we will get anything.

Well it appears there are more pressing problems than the national issue of colleague share moneyBig Daz wrote:dvbuk55 wrote:No worries BD - I would imagine HQ are working OT tomorrow to get it to you "this week"...............though that has seemed to have been a week of fortnights on occasionBig Daz wrote:No letter today
