The tax will have been deducted out of money that wasn’t yours so there won’t be any tax to get back. They will (or should) just adjust your record sent to HMRC.

That's kind of what I meant; unless they let HMRC know you haven't earned it, you will have paid more tax than is due as your end of year total actually earned will be less.

DO NOT DO THIS. Just keep the money you're getting to the side. In my experience, they're hot on chasing these type of overpayments up. A lad left that had similar happen, and he just ignored phone calls ect. Within a matter of weeks letters arrived through the door starting proceedings to recover the money unless he paid back what he owed. He did, swiftly. I wouldn't contact them, just hope you get away with one, but don't ignore them either.scotchy1962 wrote: ↑17 Sep 2024, 18:45Say nothing and block all contact with RM, they are shortfalling most people who leave so you can start to balance it back in the workers favour, you are a poor pensioner now and can't afford more than a £1 a week if they ever catch on.Jack1960 wrote: ↑17 Sep 2024, 18:16I retired 3 weeks ago but still on the people's app and still being paid.
I got what I thought would be my final one last week as I got the outstanding leave I was owed paid out.
AVCs still going into my pension etc. I gave 6 weeks notice so I don't understand it.
Once they realise their mistake anyone know how it will be recovered?;
