It is full time.
It is just less hours than a 37 hour contract, so obviously you get a smaller Xmas bonus.
All full time contracts are equal but some are more equal than others

If 35 hours isn't full time because it is less than 37, then 37 isn't full time because it is less than 40.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

It is UK Law that full time is 35hrs and above.

Irrelevant. ALL full time duties are 37hrs, anything below is considered to be part time

All full time duties are 35hrs and above. Referring to 35 hours as part time has no legal basis.

There’s just a mental block at RM because 37 was the standard marker. But that is not the case in Employment Law.

It doesn't matter what the employment law says, full time duties are 37hrs, they've been that for a few years now and unless we get a further reduction in the length of the working week, they'll always be 37hrs

Why can't 40 hour contracts, 37 hour contracts and 35 hour contracts all be full time?
My partner's full time (not in RM obv) contract is 34 hours. Should I tell her she is part time?

When the flight path to a 35 hour week was still an objective those being made full time were given 35 hour contracts.
It was the new full time contract.
Things have moved on and objectives have shifted but still.

I know what you mean, I think it just grates that they introduced that 35hr cap prematurely alongside the existing 37, imho they should have matched whatever was currently classed as "full" time, anyway they didn't so as you say we can't do anything about it.

It certainly grated with me at the time, got made up to 35 and told to book a differing amount daily due to longs and shorts which obviously seemed ridiculous, anyway after finding out on here that they can apply a "temporary" uplift to 37 I phoned HR who confirmed that it was true and had to push and push to get the manager to accept to do it.

There’s a couple of 35hrs duties in my office and they’re classed as full time

35 hrs is the full time contract now, that's the default position ever since the union proposed it.

I am not on a 35 hrs contract yet management say that I am so close to it they will treat me as I am.

Genuine question - what benefit do you get from management treating you as FT @ 35 hrs (or near to it)?

There’s the same benefit from management as being on 37hrs. Treated the same. Equal contempt.
