Re: No strikes until March
The quality of media that originates from CWU coms has been a bit of a let down concentrating more on the amount of click likes received and flag waving than any real substance with the dispute.
That twitter link from CWU coms is a prime example with absolutely no links to Royal Mail provided. It could have originated at any commercial premises. Bovine Excrement.

Re: No strikes until March
Very good reason for striking......I like time off. Go part time or go get another job & let the rest of us get back to work. So f**king idle.2chorizon wrote: ↑02 Jan 2023, 17:12That is a good point RE the ballot papers, bit of a flakey excuse thoSurreypostie wrote: ↑02 Jan 2023, 16:07Why would you want any more strikes at present? Think about it, we strike and there is a backlog.2chorizon wrote: ↑02 Jan 2023, 15:51Ah well, i still cannot see them calling any more strike dates on the change ballot, "A period of calm" and all that guff.
At the very least then if they serve notice tomorrow (tues 3rd jan) it would be 18th jan as next strike date.
People would have just forgotten about the whole thing by then.
The new ballot is unlikely to yeild the massive majority yes vote again.
The union are required by law to reballot us.
The union send out the papers and they get caught up in the backlog and are not delivered, if and when they are delivered we have to return them.
Royal Mail will not prioritise them,
If we fail to meet the threshold, the amount of votes that have to be cast and the percentage needed to take action all strikes are off.
Union are being sensible in my opinion.
We have walks with between 30 and 40 boxes of mail under the frames, you really want to be striking now when we have to ballot again? Go for it.
I like the time off, have got used to getting random days off![]()

You will soon be out of a job and you can have as much time off as you like.
As I suspect quite a few of us will.

Time weakens our position. Time weakens our resolve. Time weakens our strength.
Call as many random strike days as you want, it has become old hat and nothing has been remotely solved by it.
You can hold up as many cwu banners as you want but people are beyond weary with this bollocks.
To all those people in October who said to me "we can't afford to go out on strike for a week" ..check your bank balance now, you've probably lost four times as much over the piece, and it's had no effect.

Re: No strikes until March
When it comes to the re-ballot, assuming that RM don't get it thrown out in court for any reason, if either the turnout is crap or the % above 51% is crap then that'll effectively give RM the green light to force through even more changesPOSTPERSON50 wrote: ↑03 Jan 2023, 11:05Time weakens our position. Re: No strikes until March
How strong is our resolve ? Should we give up then and just accept everything that's coming .? It all depends on the membership with our next ballot. if it turns out to be as crap as you fear then we know what's coming .SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑03 Jan 2023, 11:32When it comes to the re-ballot, assuming that RM don't get it thrown out in court for any reason, if either the turnout is crap or the % above 51% is crap then that'll effectively give RM the green light to force through even more changesPOSTPERSON50 wrote: ↑03 Jan 2023, 11:05Time weakens our position. I think it'll depend on what EA and changes RM force through between now and when the re-ballot takes place as to how people votewalthmstowman wrote: ↑04 Jan 2023, 14:24How strong is our resolve ? Re: No strikes until March
Can't help but feel we're on a road to nowhere. We've got Rhyde (or whatever they're called) drivers doing oversized, and the lats. They're advertising new jobs on the lower rate we're striking against. So what exactly is gonna be achieved with further strikes? I don't wanna give up on principle, but can't help but feel further strikes is just saving them money on the days we're off whilst the Ryde drivers just mop up the work.

Re: No strikes until March
Well in my friends MC collection drivers have already been told they will be losing their driving allowance this month plus their clusterfuck of a resign is already on the wall waiting for people to choose their new duties .. Apparently they are hopping mad and want the strikes to start up again immediately . IMO, the ballot is going to be another huge YES.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑04 Jan 2023, 16:21I think it'll depend on what EA and changes RM force through between now and when the re-ballot takes place as to how people votewalthmstowman wrote: ↑04 Jan 2023, 14:24How strong is our resolve ?
