Electric vans conspiracy theory

Given there no practical reasons to buy electric vans it's got to come down to cost/Government grants.

Similar to my family member getting a new car, a plug in hybrid will cost him just £50 a month in company car tax compared to my identical non plugin costing him £100+ a month.

Not really into his political views, but it’s worth a view as he explains that RM didn’t buy the vans with Their own money ( dispite Simon saying that they spent the profits on “modernisation of the fleet ) the money comes from a government scheme ( tax payers money )

Not sure if it’s all true, what do you think?

So Royal Mail gets grants for the van? So Simon Thompson/rmg doesn’t have to pay for them now? But when we become owner drivers we will have to cover the cost? Seems like a clever move for Simon, not so good for posties.
Also how green are electric cars? Until electricity is renewable isn’t the electricity coming from burning fossil fuels mosltly?
