Does anyone know if the time you "sign out" assumes you've taken your full break entitlement, according to the way forward agreement if you're entitled to 40min then the agreement states probable pattern is either 40 or 20 + 20, it also states if your attendance has more than one break then one can be taken at the end of the shift, I know this is getting a bit picky but because it's saying you can split 40 into 2 X 20 does that actually count bearing in mind you are permitted to take the 40 in one go as opposed to longer attendances where the breaks are officially split into two.

I take 20 at an appropriate time midday and I'd rather remain doing so but not if it's going to start appearing that I've finished 20 mins early,

I'm guessing that you'd have to remain in the office and not go home early if taking your break at the end. The SISO probably does assume that you've taken all your breaks

Surely SISO is no different than completing the time sheets and the manager agreeing that you can leave 20 mins early each day? Its not like you do it without there agreement?

If post SISO the manager insists you must take your break at the end of the day I'll just sit in the canteen for 20mins, so RM won't gain anything.

No-one really knows how SISO will work. We have an assumption based on what we've been told.

Heard the manager on a call (probably to siso team) saying SISO will incorrectly pick up long & short day shift patterns.

Which, given that there is just over a week to go (or less) seems typically Royal Mail. Finishing their working day on the street and scanning out on the PDA would help many people with childcare and other commitments, but it's not been said if this is an option.

If you take your break at the end of your shift, then you sign out after you've had your break. Easy.

Can anyone tell me when and how meal breaks are supposed to be taken? I’m on a 30hr contract. If big brother is going to be watching our every move I need to get it right.
30 minutes or 2 x 15 minutes
Before you get back too. You can't just get off home and have your break there coz that defeats the purpose of having a break during your shift. If you do the former they'll get the idea that you don't actually need a break and then not pay you for one thus getting 30 mins extra work out of you!

I’m thinking of returning to office and taking full 40 mins in one go half way during work day
Would also include a 15 min return to office and 15 min back to duty and 15 min return to finish
Can they stop this ???

Never been tested but you must be able to use the facilities of the office ie the toilet and a place to eat and rest and take a break meal relife. As such I should say I would do the same and encourage others to do so getting kidney stones holding it all in is no fun!

40 min in one go, yep, 15 min return to office, yup. 15 mi back to duty eh? 15 min return to finish eh? What are the last two 15 mins about? Ah you mean do a couple of hrs delivery go back to the office for a full meal relief and then back out? I cant see them accepting that normally, although when we had our revision balls up my manager told me to go out at 7.30am with the previous days full delivery, my rep said I could return to the office for my break half way through as there hadn't been time before going out

he means at for instance 12 o clock he would;

travel 15 mins to go from duty to office
40 min break at office
15 mins travelling from office back to the duty
deliver what he has time to
15 mins travelling back to the office to sign out
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Is this in response to SISO coming in or just a coincidence as you've been thinking of doing it for a while?

Yes.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
