If it's a signature and photo and door is open then I just say you want me to add a scribble and job done apart from currency that I always get signed.

A customer put in a complaint against a postie last year because they signed for something that went through the letterbox because she was in the house!

Yup, it only takes one customer (sender or recipient) to complain that 1000 dollars/a birth certificate/passport that was meant to be handed over as 'Signed For' or SD got chewed up by the dog behind the door for it to go horribly wrong.

You need to be following the rules to a tee then. In which case your walk would be reduced by about 50 percent and somebody else will be allocated your duty.

Haven't got the staff me owd for someone else to be allocated 'my' duty! Four new starts we've had since Christmas are now four 'goodbye and gone'! Longest lasted 10 days. Shortest 2 days.

You know what yellow, I spent just short of 21 years as a delivery postie. Seen at least 200 people come and go, some lasting half a shift, others years. The point is, for at least the last 10/15 years my DO didn't "have the staff" ever, but still the budget cuts kept coming and the walks kept getting longer.
