Re: Just remember Guys….
Good post. I'm currently on holiday in Keswick, I'm ex RM with over 40 years in. I saw one of your colleagues, emptying the main post office in town. When I asked him why he was working on strike day, the response was sickeningly predictable, 'can't afford'.scoobydo79 wrote: ↑30 Sep 2022, 14:02If We didn’t have the ability to strike We would have to resort to begging. Re: Just remember Guys….
I know plenty of part timers who are having a really hard time at the moment.
I wouldn't abuse any of them if they chose to cross the picket line.
They have kids to feed and a roof to put over their heads.
They have been woefully let down by the union from their pension to their terms and conditions to their daily treatment in the office all on a part time wage.
w*****s they are not.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Just remember Guys….
I don't.
I just don't think it is right for someone to start abusing someone without knowing anything about their circumstances.
Did he call the person a w****r to their face or is he just another keyboard warrior.
Personally I think it would be better for him to go and enjoy his holiday in Keswick rather than come on here calling people names twice (which is a breach of the forum rules)

Re: Just remember Guys….
There are plenty of part-timers with kids to feed and a roof to keep over their heads who are striking at the moment. Those who cross the picket line are prolonging the strike and the amount of strike days that will be needed to have the required effect on this management team. They are causing their struggling colleagues to lose more money than they would otherwise need to.
If someone steals money directly out of my pocket then I will judge them. If someone else effectively does exactly the same thing by undermining the sacrifices made by those on strike then I will judge them in exactly the same terms as that thief. The term "w****r" really isn't strong enough at all.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We’re on about £10 an hour after tax.
I don’t know any of us who aren’t having “a really hard time” absorbing multiple days IA.
You make your choices. Sometimes they have effects.

If someone puts my job and income at risk by trying to blackmail the company I work for then I have the right to judge them to. Id never resort to calling them names however.Schiff wrote: ↑30 Sep 2022, 15:53There are plenty of part-timers with kids to feed and a roof to keep over their heads who are striking at the moment. Those who say theyd rather break the compant than agree to new terms go and find yourselves a new job with suitable terms and let those who want to work here carry on.

Re: Just remember Guys….
Maybe it's time for the CEO, who wants to break the company, to go and find themselves a more suitable job? The only one blackmailing the company is not the CWU, or the workers, its the CEO!2yearpostie wrote: ↑30 Sep 2022, 16:15If someone puts my job and income at risk by trying to blackmail the company I work for then I have the right to judge them to. Re: Just remember Guys….
A vote was taken on whether to simply accept the terms and pay cut on offer. A massive majority voted to fight this disgrace of a CEO.2yearpostie wrote: ↑30 Sep 2022, 16:15If someone puts my job and income at risk by trying to blackmail the company I work for then I have the right to judge them to. If the majority had voted to simply lie down and roll over then the rest of us would have had to either go with the majority decision or else take our labour elsewhere. You, on the other hand, think that the 97% should resign and leave the 3% to get on with doing the job the way that Simon wants. Grow a pair.
