Our COM was one of the 250 invited to the hub last week. He has been tasked this week with visiting neighbouring offices spreading the word that start times won't change and Sunday working won't be forced on anyone. The idea being that we were goaded into striking to break the agreements and proceed with the real agenda which is the ability to introduce stuff without trials a new performance management framework and the end to paid release for the area and div reps. It's all very confusing and smoke and mirrors and people don't know where to look for the real answers anymore.

The claim in the OP isnt that its union lies but that the proposals were put out there by RM, to all but ensure there would be strike action

It's totally crazy all this. They are short term GREEDY PATHETIC INDIVIDUDLS. All the money spent on hire vans, agency, loss of contracts, bonuses, even bigger dividends would have more than paid for a respectful pay rise, nevermind crushing us to the floor with their proposals. We can't compete while letters are around and d2ds. It's ridiculous. Most people I know suffer some form of physical niggling. Increasing duties by considerable loops is only going to make the situation worse. No wonder sick pay is top of their bullshit agenda. SCUMBAGS. Considerable time spent delivering in the dark is my biggest fear. Christmas is often spent delivering last loop or so in the dark trying to use security lights to read and the shitty torches they provide. If this goes through hours and hours will be spent like this with no right to cut off or complain.

Totally it's ridiculous. Working Sunday seems insignificant and with that I'm enraged. I'm sure for most of us that's family/ guaranteed relax and recoup time

People may have Sunday jobs, church, football, family roast dinners etc etc on Sundays.

People have to pick up their children from school in the afternoons, go to other jobs.....


It's not just working Sundays.... it's working later on Saturday and Sundays also.... We currently get the afternoon off on Saturdays like we do with the weekdays, we are home by 2pm, but they'll have us out until 6 / 7pm with these changes....

Your weekend time would be done for.


It's too much of a shake up, why can't they just employ Sunday staff, not expensive agency staff, but people like university students - who want some Sunday work.

We've just had the "Heads Up" about these RM Ambassadors, apparently the majority in some DOs just got up and walked out of the briefing.

While I can applaud such actions I think it might be a better idea for us to ask some relevant questions that might embarrass these Ambassadors, and perhaps expose the true purpose of Royal Mail's plans to the "Less Well Informed" amongst us. They may think they've got a captive audience but so has the Unit Rep if he wants to expose their lies.

Seriously: What questions do you think we should be asking these Ambassadors? Lets use this Bullshit PR Spin opportunity against them!

I would consider Most of us here on RMC are fairly well up to speed on the current Royal Mail v CWU situation. However, judging by some of the conversations you hear around the workplace not everyone is as clued up.

These Royal Mail YES Men are going to try and convince them that Royal Mail's just a Friendly Employer that's got their best interests at heart and it's the Big Bad CWU that are stirring up trouble ... and causing them to lose money by Striking.

I don't think we should give these Carpet Baggers a FREE platform on which to peddle their BULLSHIT! You're suggestion is one option, but the "Undecided" will be none the wiser and perhaps persist with their False Assumptions.

I'm suggesting we prepare some pertinent questions to confront these Yes Men with in front of our colleagues.
