The idea that RM are going to invest the time and effort into constantly changing frame layouts on a daily basis is ridiculous.
If the slot sizes are all kept the same, it takes less then 30secs to change a from from one walk to another. The basic method is tried and tested. In MCs the letter and flat frames can get used for inward and outward (one or both might need to be split in two if not enough selections in one frame. the same frame can also be used for "facing" (making sure all letters are the right way up and orientated the same way)

You need to deal with this obsession SP, focus on what's going to happen in processing, at least you have some kind of knowledge base to work on.
I already know what's happening, RM are bring in more and more casuals. When anyone leaves they get replaced with casuals. Anytime now our start and finish times and the dispatch times to DOs will be made probably at least an hour later due to the changes in arrival patters. Where we used to get an early and a late run from the RDCs, both of which will have been part full, the early runs have been axed and the later run is full.

The idea of having a DO as a local parcel hub has already been dropped as we're back to sorting them to the individual DOs in the MC.

Large normal and large Tracked packets now get sorted and dispatched together, I think it's only a matter of time before the same is done with small normal and small Tracked
Already there at Greenford MC small packets are sorted together both Tracked and Live god knows how much swearing there is at DO's with this new way of working

I have to say I'm surprised nothing had been said or proposed about reducing the 6 day letters service. I'm not sure on this, but am led to believe we're one of the only postal services in the world that still deliver letters 6 days a week? Monday's are that light in terms of letters now in our office it's a waste of time taking them out. 20 - 30% call rate I'd estimate.
Joe biden just signed into law in April to keep the us post to deliver everywhere for 6 days a week like we do so its not so outdated or even wanted as were lead to believe.

How long ago did that go live? Was it both for smalls and large at the same time or was it one then the other a few weeks later?

It started first of all on Lumps on a Sunday around about a year ago then spread onto weekdays about 3 months ago for the small it was about 3 weeks ago. I work on the Secondary part of NW Tracked packets and neither me nor my former union shop steward colleague have been told about it(Correctly anticipating we would kick off about the poor service to the Delivery Units). Just suddenly get all the live mail mixed in with the throw offs from the Primary we still pick it out and pass it onto the live but when we are at break or a casual replaces my colleague who finishes at 5 am these just get thrown in with the Tracked
