Calm down simonchrisj wrote: ↑22 Sep 2022, 17:25The CWU clearly!
They think they can control the operations of a PLC or dictate what the company can do or not do to progress. The Union has been acting above its station and stuck in the days when royal mail was a public service.
The should have worked more on the changes and try to mitigate against the worst parts of the changes or ask for more protection for their vulnerable members. No condition can be permanent in industrial relations or for any industry.
The CWU can never stop royal mail driving itself forward - even if we think they are wrong on some of the aspects of whether some of us will be significantly worse off...
This was always more than money - it was a power struggle! And we are the cannon fodder!
A lot more us deep down knows that some of our members are dragging the company and ourselves down! The generous sickness/attendance procedure is seriously abused - we all know! The productivity of some is not up to scratch.
I work sometimes in processing and sone should not even be in the job - some are shot and others are just very very lazy and stuck in their ways.
As for the outdated allowances - RM even wanted to buy them out but CWU will not hear of it.
What change did the CWU agree to because their response to royal mail changes were negative in all aspects
Too much politics, silly positioning and conspiracy theories!
Time for change with the CWU. Those two at the top need to go!

No point in even reading or listening to anything Simon Thompson says.... it's all nonsense.
Our line managers won't be happy with what's going on. It's time our line managers voted for strike action too. Do they want these changes in which they'd have to bully us and harass us even more, where they'd have to work Sundays, where they'd have to work later into the day....
No chance.
All out on strike including line managers!
Get UNITE on board.

Ahh yes, a judge. My experience over the years is a person who judges the work standards of others are usually one of the lazy brigade.chrisj wrote: ↑22 Sep 2022, 17:25The CWU clearly!

The only request I will make of the Union on this occasion is do NOT under ANY circumstances allow this dispute to be put on hiatus during November and December due to Acas resolution/court action or any other underhanded bullshit weasel tactics that RM will use to try and stamp their feet and get their own way for the Xmas period.
It is one of the few things we have in our favour.
Don’t f.uck it up.

There is a lot of comments here on the law , how it works, what could RM do etc etc. Nobody knows unless they are a legal employment law specialist.
What I know is that you cannot threaten or intimidate 115000 people. You cannot replace 115000 people just like that. If RM want changes they must take the workforce with them despite what Simon says in his bully boy rhetoric. If he persists other directors and shareholders behind the scenes will move against him.

Keep calm, all stand together, I'm sensing signs of doubt, don't let them divide us. They need us more than we need them!

What if ST is working on orders from DK to try and destroy the CWU before he mounts a takeover bid (or just attempt to do it in order to drive the share price down?) and the other Directors are going along with it as they have no intention of upsetting DK?

Doubtful, they will just adapt to it like every other change. When I started I was home by 12 at the latest and 10.30 Saturday. It's got progressively later and now I'm lucky to finish by 4pm. Mostly you just get on with it. How many Sundays will you have to do?sixfoottwo wrote: ↑22 Sep 2022, 14:07Bringing in later starts (3hrs later) and Sunday working in our office it was said today.
95% will be looking for a new job I'd say.

You have highlighted a very serious cause for concern. I hope the CWU are wise to this. Once we are entwined with Acas it will be almost impossible for us to take further industrial action. RM would accuse us of not wanting an agreement and public support would probably take a dip. Especially over Christmas when the support will drop when joe blogs can't get his Christmas presents and goodies delivered.
The way this country is getting fd up that might just a Mars bar cos most of us won't have a penny to rub together after fuel, food and council tax is paid.
