Let’s be clear , the PE are meeting early to agree a serious escalation of strike action. The law requires as soon as the executive have agreed strike action it to served to Royal Mail 2 weeks in advance detailing the sites we taking out and the members.

There are a number of different views on strike action , from 24 hours to more than 48 hours. Some want rolling strikes some want Divisional strike and some want to continue with the current strikes.

We are also considering balloting on action short of a strike to compliment strike action.

We also consult with the Field officials.

It is important we get the next strike program right. Remember in my 38 years we have never settled a strike with less than 8 days national strike action. So it is a long fight and you need to plan not have knee jerk decisions.

Your all know by middle of next week ahead of our 48 hour strike next week.

I appreciate the reply. We have never had someone so hellbent on destroying the union before though. The way it’s going he could have the changes in place before your next announced strikes happen.

It’s a tough one , the union have to weigh up how much its members can afford to lose due to strikes in a short period of time .Black Friday and cyber Monday strikes would cripple the business if the union got their timing right .

Rolling effing strikes cause maximum disruption because people can afford to do it longer, if it was every week we would surely grind to a halt, and quickly too

When do the current ballots expire (on the assumption that RM don't agree to an extension of either)?
