I can see this leading to frustrated customers, who at the moment, can reliably collect a parcel from the Customer Service Point the next day. But now, unless they are in all day the next day, it's pot luck whether they are in at the right time to receive it the next day, but if they are desperate for the item, it won't be at the Delivery Office, but stuck on a van somewhere. Rinse and repeat.

Is it planned that only one redelivery the next day will be attempted, or will the same parcel keep going out day after day (unless the recipient breaks the cycle and specifically arranges a redelivery on a specific date)?

It just makes no sense. It’s change for change sake and not even one of the changes they ‘need’. Re delivery is something the customer can arrange so why do it needlessly the next day when they most likely won’t be in again.

Another idea that hasn't been thought through, well.

Royal Mail managers, from the CEO, to the utter cretins we have currently as a Dims/Cons, nobody in their right mind would put them in charge of a stall at a jumble sale.

If RM must have really limited opening hours for the CSPs, in larger towns and cities where there's more than one DO, what about choosing the largest DO (physical building size) and expanding the CSP to cover the whole town? At least then people wouldn't have a ridiculously short time frame to collect their parcels

Another of the "lets just copy what dpd do"
Why not have the callers office open like it used to be.

Happens every other day
Took parcels out three times before
Charge them after the 2nd time

Absolute madness introducing the trial and no doubt full rollout just before the very busy Black Friday to Xmas period, just like having the free parcel collections promotion extending into this period. And we'll probably going to be striking through at least part of this period too.

Going to be carnage. Come home time I'm off home, regardless of what's left that day. :wave

So far this week I've had 6 customer collections, 4 weren't in. 9 of my "Guaranteed by 1pm" specials (out of about 14 so far but I've still got 6 to do today) have not been in. If people can't even he around for one morning, how many days am I going to be bringing the same parcels back for?!

More cut-offs if that happens, especially if it's at the far end of your walk.

Is it perhaps time for at least on towns and cities to have a few staff doing all the SDs and maybe the Tracked? At least then having time slots might be viable, as if people know roughly when delivery is going to be attempted, there's more chance of them being in

Some couriers I believe after the 3rd attempt they RTS an item

I like the definition of a safe place 'secure' well if the postman can access the safe place , anyone can, so it's not secure so no such thing as a safe place :Very Happy

I mailed a Special Delivery to an address in Kensington, London on 12th September but the next day it was scanned at 3.30 am at Heathrow LC. No one seems able to locate this parcel, or even contact Heathrow?

I don't see any option there to call and collect your parcel, so is this the beginning of the end for CSPs?
