As i'm going to lose a days' pay, Saturday is good for me regardless of it's effect.

Although having the managers in on Saturdays doing a full day is a right bonus

What's a Non Ops manager? One that does even less work than a Operating manager!

£150 worth of vouchers will be humiliating to these non opps managers. Along time ago I worked on a packet frame with grey bags hanging in it on four hooks with a non opps manager. He said to me that just this one time being asked to work on something other than their normal job during a strike would make them all leave. I didnt believe him but sure enough, they all resigned immediately. Being asked, or forced, to do our job in Mail Centres is something that managers really hate. Not sure why it is so bad for them, but the reactions that I have seen at Bristol Mail Centre range from exhaustion after missorting at extreme levels, to seeing us as a threat to their very exsistence.

Hopefully all strikes involve a Saturday in the future. Chaos for them, weekend off for us.

This isn't my experience in delivery offices. Managers are all happy to do most anything on strike days. Any managers and posties who break strikes do not exert themselves. They'll cover the delivery of specials and tracked as best they can, nobody will rush around.

I've never heard any manager complain about the prospect of turning up for work on strike days. There are no moral issues for these people. I spoke to one of my customers who had received a special delivery on the first strike day. She said "I said to him, I thought there would be no delivery today, he then smiled and turned around so I could see the word MANAGER on his hi vis vest."

What I don't accept on any level is union members who choose to cross picket lines. Remember, there is a couple of percent of CWU members who don't agree with striking, yet the majority of that couple of percent still do not cross the picket lines. Nationwide, there are a few hundred CWU members who cross picket lines. I know of two of these members in my unit alone.

Don't confuse any Unite pretend strike action with CWU strike action.

Managers were NEVER NEVER NEVER going to go on strike. Plus, the managers voted for that because it was THEIR jobs involved.

The managers cross posties picket lines as STANDARD. The shopping vouchers bulls*it is just Simon's way of rubbing the striking posties noses in it. "Thanks team, look how I thank my lovely strike breakers"
