Anybody that has used the grievance procedure.
What is its objective and has there been any positive outcomes for anybody that has used it?
Or do the managers all stick together lie and deny?

If your grievance is against managers you will get absolutely nowhere. You'll be ignored or encouraged to drop it. They will pretend to investigate it then find no wrongdoing. All you will do is go around in circles. In the end you'll be no further forward.
In fact, it will count against you in some guise long term.
Those guys are ace cover up merchants.
Involve your rep and watch him/her lose interest after a while.
The only silver lining is that managers hate having live pending grievances in the office, when I have had issues I have put in a grievance solely for that reason.

Remember when Simon said all the issues would stop in offices. Speak up! He said.
I hate to discourage you but i've been close to a few serious issues that evolved in our office and the complainants were discouraged and gaslit at every level.

I think all part-time posties that are working full time on overtime and have been doing so for years should all put a grievance in saying that they want a full-time contract. Reasons why: missing out on full-time wage when on annual leave? no maximum delivery supplement? bonuses that are pro rata? etc etc
I'm sure there are many other reasons for grievances though - how about rest days always on a Tuesday or being moved around for the sake of being moved around? I'm sure they would just get the standard b*llocks reply about the needs of the business.
In my experience, grievances rarely work. Actions do. One guy who was sick of being moved around decided to p*ss off his colleagues by deliberately walking slow, not taking the lapse everyday for months on end. When he was forced to take the lapse it was met with a phone call to inform them it was coming back to the office. Soon got his own duty cause no one would work with him

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

So am I to conclude that the grievance procedure is not fit for purpose?

Quite...although HR probably won't beg for a biscuit or whine at your back door until you let them out for a s**t.POSTPERSON50 wrote: ↑22 Sep 2022, 12:05You are. You might as well discuss your grievance with your dog, you'll get the same feedback.
Sooner or later, a beat dog bites.

Re: Grievance Procedure. Does it work? What has it achieved?
It will depend on what your grievance is.
I had holidays go missing and followed grievance procedure to get them back.
Then I had to put in a grievance to get them when I wanted them and not when I was told to have them.
Dealing with managers' managers puts things into perspective, you can see the bullying culture is endemic.
If I am to fall out with a manager, yes, I will put in a grievance, just because they hate that.
