One of our managers told me in confidence that they were told 23 agency staff were due in. Only 3 turned up. The others didn't want to do the job. Some were given loads of mail to throw out and deliver in an area they didn't know and nobody showed them. It took one guy 3 hours just to throw it out. I think he brought most of it back.

That’s been the theme for a long time at RM now. They really don’t have a very good name in the circle of agency workers anymore. Our old Dom was telling us aggressively afew weeks back that our strike would be futile as agency workers would come in and clear the office She is abit sheepish now when u ask when will they be arriving to clear all the York’s of mail and non tracked parcels in the office.

We must have a really odd manager, very very angry at his own union for to quote him " Not having the balls ", totally supports us but doesn't think Thomson back down. Tells us they have been shafted by RM and their Union. Want to go on strike himself.

Ours is exactly the same. I’m sure there are lots. Managers with some degree of morale compass, seeing RM and their actions for what it is.

It's like trying to plug a storm drain with a bath plug.

The letters and parcels keep flowing in (business is booming). You can't plug it with agency workers. You need your workforce. We've only had 1 day strikes so far and it's caused mayhem. This 2 day strike is going to be an even bigger mess.

We haven't had float cover at our depot for over a year. So not only are us posties striking for 2 days, but they also have no posties to cover our rounds on our day off. It's essentially like a 3 day strike.
