Ricky McAulay begging email to Angaard staff
‘Dear agency colleague,
I wanted to write to you personally to thank you for your continued support throughout this challenging time.
Industrial action is not good for any organisation and we are very aware of how this can impact each and every one of you during your time working with us. Whether you are one of our longer term temporary colleagues or have recently joined to support our business recovery activity, you will no doubt have seen or heard something about our dispute.
Whilst we continue to work closely with our trade unions, we are facing into 2 further days of strike this Thursday 8th and Friday 9th September. The support on previous strike days from our agency colleagues has been great and we want you to know that there will be work available for you on those days and ongoing into the following weeks, to support our peak period.
We are aware that the CWU have written to many of our agency partners directly, explaining that there will be picket lines and people asking you not to go in to work. To be clear – you are able to attend work as usual on strike days and both Royal Mail and our agency partners work within the relevant laws surrounding this.
We have seen very little disruption on the picket lines and want to reassure you that we have measures in place to ensure you can come to work safely at all times. If you are concerned about anything on the day or any at any other times, please ensure you have raised this directly with your manager / site contact and your agency branch. They will ensure any escalation is dealt with appropriately.
The work that you are doing is helping us to continue to deliver the service that our customers expect – On behalf of the Royal Mail team, thankyou.

They wasn't that polite and nice to them, or cared about them, when they stopped giving them shifts this last year...
I know where i'd tell them to shove their comments if i were agency.

They know people are desperate for money but if I was an agency worker I would try to get shift in a place where there is no industrial action. These guys coming to work can't possibly expect anything from RM. They won't be taken on and even if a small percentage will be offered something anybody will half a brain should think again and start asking himself questions. Why the company is in such a mess? Maybe all these striking people do it for a reason? I wonder if these agency workers have a second thought of coming to work especially on the strike day, crossing picket lines.

To ANY member of an agency reading this - just remember how many of your agency colleagues were told on Christmas Eve they were no longer needed.Ferrari5825 wrote: ↑07 Sep 2022, 15:21They wasn't that polite and nice to them, or cared about them, when they stopped giving them shifts this last year...

The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

One of our managers told me in confidence that they were told 23 agency staff were due in. Only 3 turned up. The others didn't want to do the job. Some were given loads of mail to throw out and deliver in an area they didn't know and nobody showed them. It took one guy 3 hours just to throw it out. I think he brought most of it back.

I wrestled with my conscience for about a nano second as to whether I should help him. When he dropped them like a lead s**t at Christmas last year? You’ll soon find in this world Ricky that what goes around comes around.

Re: Ricky McAulay begging email to Angaard staff
That’s been the theme for a long time at RM now. They really don’t have a very good name in the circle of agency workers anymore. Our old Dom was telling us aggressively afew weeks back that our strike would be futile as agency workers would come in and clear the officetimbo1234 wrote: ↑07 Sep 2022, 17:37One of our managers told me in confidence that they were told 23 agency staff were due in. We got told we would come in to "clear frames and no parcels" when we return on Saturday. Last 2 strike days we came in to a depot that looked like it had been mothballed for 24 hours, so we wait with baited breath
