But instead we get this cryptic nonsense, would have been better off just saying nothing at all.
I'm not sure what people are wanting.
This is not going to be resolved in 5 minutes.
They spoke, they'll speak again and again and again and eventually a deal might pop out the other end.
What good would there be in knowing every word of every conversation that goes on?
Agree , some joke responses on here .

At least their talking ... Not ignoring each other! Lets hope these strike days have concentrated the minds of everyone sat around the table. :thumbup

I wouldn't want to be involved ... WTLL gives me a headache. :cuppa

You are a right bunch on here ain’t you , I’m glad they are actually talking rather than slaughtering each other on social media , doesn’t mean they are bottling it or conceding on anything, this only gets resolved by talking.
Totally agree. It is a good sign as us striking and the business not even bothered to call of strikes by trying to talk with the union was a little bit worrying. Hopefully something good will come out of it. I am pretty certain this weeks strike days will be going ahead. Possibly new days to be announced next week or by the end of this week already.

This is what really infuriates me about this union. We have so far backed the CWU and lost 2 days pay and due to lose another 2 days this week. The least they could do in return is give us members some brief bullet points of what’s been said by both sides in this meeting. But instead we get this cryptic nonsense, would have been better off just saying nothing at all.
If the union leak confidential information, Royal Mail might be able to take that to court, preventing any further strikes

Best scenario is Royal Mail have given up on the idea of the takeover and have finally come to the table to talk to see exactly what we want....

So best we can hope for is a renewed offer which would probably be 8% and a couple of changes. Then maybe the CWU will ask us to vote on whether we are happy with this or not. I'd take 4.5%, a couple of changes and a £2,000 lump sum.

Worst scenario is it's just Royal Mail playing games and they are still looking for the takeover.

Positive is that it sounds like Royal Mail have asked what the CWU want and they will come back to them tomorrow with a better offer. Otherwise the CWU would be going 'we had talks and they told us that they are going ahead with a takeover. We will let you know more strike dates soon!'.

Put some pressure on the business, announce some more dates for 2 weeks from now.

Though bear in mind that it's only strike action that has brought RM even this far. They weren't even bothering to talk before.

So we do need to keep the pressure on with more dates I'm afraid.
