Thank you for your continued support - message from Simon Thompson

Team, thank you to everyone who is playing a part to get us through this difficult period.

The work many of you are doing today to keep our customers happy, is very important. I have always been taught it is hard to win a customer but easy to lose one, so every parcel delivered will make a positive difference.

On the CWU’s first strike day, more than 850 offices were operational as we worked to minimise disruption.

Over the Bank Holiday weekend, teams across Royal Mail have worked tirelessly to implement our recovery plans, ensuring NHS letters and critical government mailings were prioritised as we returned to normal service levels.

I visited some of our key customers last week. They were very clear - you must get the change you need because we need the same change to help our business grow.

But they have also said that how we recover from any disruption will dictate how much business they keep with us. A sobering thought with peak just ahead of us.

So for all of you working today, thank you.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

850 offices operational, prove that one to me Mr Thomson, one certainly wasn't my city office, all out! And if you don't want to lose business sit down with the CWU and get the pay agreement sorted, instead of dishing over the amount profits to shsreholders :left:

If these so called customers do want the changes to go through I bet it was because they were only told Sunday and late night deliveries of course many would want to see that. I bet he didn't tell them allowances being removed, annualised hours and a pittance of a payrise

I doubt the customers ( in this case businesses who use RM to deliver their goods ) care about the latter
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

If peak or Christmas as I know it is just around the corner, you better start thinking how to get the staffs morale up.

Nowhere near fully operational. The backlog will be almighty and the strike breakers better sign up to work late into the night so that we don’t have to.

He's quite obviously not a well man. If being so rich is making him so unwell distribute your 77 million to people who need it. In a way I feel sorry for him. He has nothing better to do than screw over people at the very bottom of the ladder. That's quite shameful in itself. As for the 40% overpaid nonsense that takes us below minimum wage. Do the maths pal. Your obviously good with large numbers try the little ones instead.

How many parcels do you think will be delivered to our customers today Simon? :hmmmm

You really think half a dozen managers in an office are going to sift through thousands of letters for specific "NHS letters and critical government mailings"

How we recover from any disruption will depend on how well you negotiate with the CWU.....

Speaking of which why are you putting out this crap on Workspace instead of communicating with them to resolve the dispute??
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
