So it came to pass in the House of the Dragon on the last full moon of the month an edict was passed along with a brand new shiny hash tag “keepmailmoving” to the four corners of the land. It simply stated it would be very , very , very appreciated if every depot could put up images of managers doing Posties work in order to undermine ,weaken and hopefully erode the strikers resolve.

Most ignored the message, some gave lip service to it but a tiny minority feverishly saw this as a golden opportunity to be in the spotlight and hopefully to curry favour, it became sad to watch, unedifying and blatant cronyism at its worst.

It really was cringing to see them fighting for the limelight and being at pains to show how hard they were working. “Self praise is no praise at all”.
Is the above fact or fiction? The jury is still out, but what cannot be denied is the following as the photos on Workplace confirm.

Managers having a jolly day out in the sun delivering Posties work whilst smiling like a constipated Cheshire cat every time the propaganda cameraman shouts CHEESE.

A mysterious pair of hands doing IPS apparently not attached to any other part of a body .Reminiscent of “Thing” in the Adams Family.
Managers woodenly standing to attention grinning dementedly next to a double Decker full of mail. Could not look any prouder, if they were on top of the Olympic podium, with God Save Our Queen blaring in the background.

A picture of a manager, well he was so excited showing a Covid test kit in a sack you could be excused if you thought it was the start of the second coming.

Simon Thompson all the above are wrong on so many levels it is ruthless, demeaning and such a contemptuous way to treat your team and all so unnecessary. All this mental intimidation and mind games being played only brings out anxiety, anger, bitterness and frustration to your TEAM.

In the NUM strike of 1984/85 a defining memory is the police taunting the proud miners with their wage packets overflowing with bonuses because of the strike.

Fast forward to 2022 R/M Managers have been offered bonuses of up to £1,500 just to turn up for work during the strike. For the life of me I cannot see any difference in the two scenarios.

Simon Thompson on occasions I have vociferously supported you when there are personal attacks against you or your family .Unfortunately respect works both ways I appreciate at times in an ivory tower it can be like an” Emperor with no clothes” out of touch with reality on the ground. What is happening in your name is like a red flag to a bull.

If you have one ounce of humility, decency and respect for your team then you will call” off the dogs and ask them to desist putting up silly, infantile ,puerile images I do not have a problem of managers doing their own line of work and grinning insanely to the camera if they so wish. “You have always said count to 100 then look at the post .My sentiments exactly “Act in haste, repent at leisure “

In the pursuit of balance and impartiality I fully accept there are images of striking Posties on Workplace but from what I can see they are acting maturely, disciplined and respectful and definitely not doing any managers work. I am yet to see any standing on their hands and going through hoops for the camera.

They cant argue how damaging they are on one hand whilst effectively trying to portray they are ineffective on the other

These are set up pictures. It's the same as the Tories trying to airbrush queues of ambulances out of pictures of hospitals. Difference between the 70s and now is that people can find out the truth for themselves. A few agency staff and a couple of cretin managers - who actually falls for this c***.
