Why can't the CWU meet with Simon and his exec this week to see what he has to say, if they get nowhere then state they need the Chairman to attend the next meeting, although why the Chairman, non exec or not, is refusing to attend is baffling, given he's apparently supposed to be an expect at dealing with union disputes, unlike Simon.

Probably because this dispute is being provoked from those above. Including the biggest share holder.

That doesn't stop the CWU calling their bluff and agreeing to meet just Simon, carry on like this and we'll lose 4 days pay without the CWU seemingly making any attempt to make any progress. There seems radio silence from Terry and co lately.

I have to agree. Getting a bit frustrated tbh. Nobody wants to lose money. Especially if the CWU are dragging their feet.

What’s the point though. The people who have been in the room for the last few month clearly think Simon is just the mouthpiece and it’s the chairman they need to speak with. Negotiations have been going round in circles for too long.

Cod, lets invite them to get involved with joined up thinking across all Unions, or will this already be "wheels in motion" ?

The current General Secretary is Frances O'Grady.

We haven't started striking yet. Friday should see the start of things ramping up with regards the CWU top brass and the media. Been here before.

I'm starting to wonder if RM have got something up their sleeve that they know has a high chance of getting both ballots thrown out

I started to get that doom and gloom feeling yesterday too. Especially when Simon posted that something was coming on the 25th then suspiciously deleted the post about an hour later.

If the CWU say they want to meet the CEO and the chairman and RM reply with you can meet the CEO and the Finance Officer then there can be no meeting.
The CWU can't allow RM to set the agenda for the meeting before it has even started.
If they agreed to the meeting it would be clear to everyone that the CWU had the smaller willy and nobody wants to go into negotiations with everyone knowing they have a small willy. That would never work.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

And there lies the problem, I dont care whos got the biggest genitals, I just want a safe secure job to go and to be able to just about manage to pay the utility bills.
Why is it so hard to get into a room and talk about pay and conditions together?

Sometimes even though you know you have the smaller willy you just have to get it out and wave it around until the person with the bigger one starts to wonder if his is really as big as he thinks it is.
