I was wondering why there has been more consumer collections. Had 5 today and 2 of them were cancelled as the time wasn't convenient for them for pick up.

What a waste of time and fuel. Another brilliant idea by Si, on how to waste money.

Had one yesterday, wasn't ready for the collection when I got there at 1.30 in the afternoon. Sat in van outside customers house for 15 minutes while they packaged the item. Could do with 4 of those an hour.

christ no. I forget the exact order but there is an option for "Item not presented" and "no label" and "not as described" and more. Use it, leave them to it. If you have a label I'd leave that and say they're welcome to dump it at the DO themselves later, but you're *gone*.

The reason people don't use this service as much as Royal Mail want is because very few people own parcel weighing scales. They also don't want to hang around at home all day waiting for us to collect.

Simon wants shot of letters so he can micromanage our days to the second.
Team- we can now- send customers- up to the minute location details- of their - packets. This will be - our blockbuster video- we bring packaging to the door like- VHS tapes- at a time that suits- them

Picked up one today she usually drops them at the post office round the corner but apparently the only option now was to have it picked up.

I said from day 1 they should have a dedicated duty (or duties) purely for picking up parcels, we could give very accurate time slots because the driver would be following a set route. Could offer a choice of time slots (for a premium fee). Go the whole hog and we could even sell bubble wrap, tape, boxes, stamps etc which could be ordered and then dropped off. Bit like the old post office vans.

The biggest barrier I think is people not knowing if their parcel will be picked up at 7am or 6pm. That’s too long to wait.

Anyway, as you were.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

According to RM's own website as long as it's not Tracked 24/48 and they've printed their own label,
she should still be able to. Perhaps it's the PO that have told her no, I know our local PO got a bit cheesed
off that RM were taking the online postage revenue but the PO staff were effectively working (for no revenue) taking these
items over the counter and delaying other customers who were actually buying revenue creating PO products.

Picked one up at 8am, customer commented that the confirmation email said from 10:30. :confused

I had 12 today!!! All printed labels. 9 for one address which was a nightmare and took ages faffing about checking which label was for which parcel. Took 10 minutes at least.

Why. I am only going to work to time anyway and if it means cutting off at the end so be it. RM want it collected so I collected.

The general public don't really know or care that RM and the post office aren't the same thing any more. To be honest I didn't know until I started working at RM, it was something that I'd heard and then didn't care about enough to look into.

We’ve been told if there’s more than 1 label, hand them over and let them put the labels on the parcels themselves, just so there’s no comeback if the wrong labels go on the wrong parcels! (Not sure if that’s how you do things or not).

How dose that work when you are collecting the parcels from the customer's Safe Place? Fortunately my regular customer writes clearly on the parcel the customers names, but it's still a pain having to make sure the correct label goes on the correct parcel.

What i can never understand with the business is they add all these extra tasks to your duty, scanning virtually every parcel, photo capture, the return of asking for signatures and now parcel collect but still expect you to complete in time.

It's all free to ensure Post Offices can be closed down in the next few years due to reduced footfall
