Due to staff shortages we are lapsing more duties. Well, those of us who don't claim overtime/cut off are getting extra. Those who would just claim even more are excluded.

Not crazy numbers like last week, but rather warm.

I got an email from a Nigerian barrister needing my bank details to transfer money he had, after two of his clients died in a car crash with no living relatives.
I had forgotten that such things even existed.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

My first experience, since the Base&6 improvements of these deathly quiet summer days we're assured will allow us to work fewer hours in this season and longer ones in the following 2 seasons.
Yes, its spooky kind of quiet. Only left an hours worth in the frame and booked an hours overtime to boot (same as every day).
Gawd bless these higher-ups who know their stuff so well. How did they know it would be this quiet in Summer?
Only two hours too much work.
A spooky kind of quiet....like a poltergeist on drink 'n' drugs rampaging through a tin-can factory kind of quite.
Give the bosses another bonus!

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Deathly quiet? Saturdays are getting increasingly busy. I`m a P/T reserve and had to come in early to prep 2 frames, that I hadn`t done before all of which had electoral roll letters. Took one side out, had 8 Specials and a York full of oversized and the electoral bumf made it like a D2D. Managed all but one loop. I was n`t even the last back. A couple of colleagues only made it back before the gates shut, and it`s a pair of walks that are theirs! Been sent out on my own three times this week, one of which was for 1 walk and all the tracked on the other as well. These are 10 and 11 mile walks. No wonder I`m tired.

Very busy for me today…
couldn’t even complete…
and I was out the door for 8am
I’m one of the younger, quicker ones too
Says it all really - definitely not the apocalyptic levels Royal Mail profess during the summertime.
The whole week has been like it to be honest, not much different than any other time of year.

Saturdays used to be the easiest day of the week, not any more. Just like Weds/Thurs, sometimes WORSE.Wolf91 wrote: ↑07 Aug 2022, 00:21Very busy for me today…
