Hi guys,
Really stressing today.
Was let go by Royal Mail due to ill health and have been trying to make my lump sum last until September when I’m 55 just about made it.
Was told I couldn’t ask for my pension quotes until three months befor my 55 Birthday in September.
Did this and was told I should get figures in three weeks after six weeks nothing so was told if nothing by 10th August phone back, which I did this morning and was told because I have AVC’S it will be a long process and don’t expect to get my pension sorted before my 55th birthday which will probably leave me in the position of having to borrow money from family members.
I suppose I just have to wait as long as it takes without becoming more anxious does anyone have experience of how damn long this May drag out?

They work on 3months. Apply for pension 1st August 2022. Your figures are based around taking your pension 1st November 2022. Thats what the lads at work are getting on their figures. Infact one got his RMPP NRA 65 figures today and he applied last week. Still waiting for capita RMSPS NR65 Part.
Who is holding you up. RMPP OR RMSPS ? RobertT will tell you who controls AVC's.

OP, as a matter of interest how long was it from when you had the OH telephone interview to when you got to know your lump sum amount?, what was the length of time you had to wait for that?

If I remember rightly it was less than a week that I received my figure although in fairness my area manager was very helpful in getting it through.

Thank you Duran,
Spoke to someone else at Pension department and the explained that it was taking slightly longer but not to stress and it would be back paid to my birthday so should be ok if it’s only a week or two past.

I think I'm right in saying that the RMPP are responsible for the payment of AVC's.
In which case they'll need to wait until RMSPS get back to them with your figures, then they can work out the payment of your AVC's.
