Great! Work over by 6hrs Mon to Fri and go home 6hrs early on Saturday, yes? Like hell it will be!POSTMAN wrote: ↑04 Aug 2022, 15:00Remember - the finishing times are not the real finishing times as per this post here!...
RMCtv : No cut offs - ever - You take it out - you deliver it all.
Something that's important to cover off is that we're looking to enhance the commit to deliver principle, whereby if you're allocated some work for a route on a day, we would want that work to be completed. So if we look at our competitors, they wouldn't cut off and return to the Depo. With some work outstanding. What we're looking for within the really flexible hours approach is to have that ability to flex on the day outside of those scheduled hours. So that if there are variations from day to day, we complete that work. And if we go over the scheduled time, we bank those hours.

Arbroath!! 3 hr difference and new finish time to 18.55. that can't be right. So December in Arbroath, gotta be getting dark about 3pm latest, so delivery for almost 4 hrs in darkness? Do these clowns realise what they're asking?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

You're forgetting the annualised hours premium.
These start/finish times are based around 37hrs.
December in Arbroath will be based around 44hrs.
By my reckoning that's about 8.15pm and that's If you've finished your delivery because obviously you're committed to deliver the whole thing.

Do you really think people will do this as a job or just get any old job sat behind a till or counter or fishing trawler or bomb disposal expert or just on the dole!Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑04 Aug 2022, 22:43You're forgetting the annualised hours premium.

Am I missing something?
Has something been lost in translation?
If you don't start until eight o'clock at the earliest and in some cases more like 9-10 how do you get out at eight o'clock?

I’ve still not seen the whole “committed to deliver no cut-off thing” explained adequately.Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑04 Aug 2022, 22:43You're forgetting the annualised hours premium.

Is it that
-you get a pay rise so you have to deliver everything regardless of any other circumstance?
-annualised hours mean you owe them hours and will have to make that time up?(what happens if they owe you?)

Re: RMCtv : Later starts : The full list & Q&A'S
I love how these start and finish times are based on 'high level modelling' (corporate speak for we made this s**t up and it has no bearing on reality) and even the wanky made up times are going to have posties out for 3-4 hours in the dark come winter.
Doesn't seem to be any accounting for traffic (either getting to the MCs by road, coming from the MCs during rush hour and getting posties stuck in traffic during delivery) just 'we estimate it'll be a few hours later when we move to road and rail'.
I foresee lots of offices having official start times of 8am, getting in and finding their truck hasn't even made it from the MC yet.

Plus in the summer, we will be out delivering throughout the "midday sun" every single day, starting around 1100 and finishing around 1600.
Going to be very warm in some areas again next week, personal H&S may understandably come in to play for some with our current shift times.

..and yet our Manager & DOM seem to think that we will not be delivering 'letters' in the dark, just parcels...but as we know with this place once the wheels & cogs are set in motion the 'goalposts' can and are often moved.
