Yes your office will take it in turns to deliver your sunday stuff from the hub, how you get there is your issue not the companies.

I would have thought that as a PIC 2yearpostie would know that a distant office has vans that are not used on the
Sunday that a sensible PIC would authorise for the nominated bod to use to get to the hub and use for
the delivery or is that too simple?

Possible, but depends if a key holder is free every Sunday to open the local office to let the vans out.
Theres also the option of van Retention, but it depends office by office, Com by Com.

You don't necessarily need a key holder either if the van is in the yard do you? You just need to take the van key home
the previous day or a spare key for a van if you're not at work the day before. Solutions are there if you're just willing
to see them.

How do you access the yard to get to the van without the keyholder?

If any office is like mine the padlock is there for show and doesn't lock so just take it off

Assuming your office has that system set up AND it isn't also behind a padlocked gate.

Taking the van home is the likely option. My insurance wouldn't let me drive to another office, and I sure as s**t ain't paying the difference to let it. Plenty of others are the same. Not to mention start time stuff if you have to travel another 30 mins out from your normal workplace.

What about non-drivers? How can they deliver parcels especially if the hub is not the same office. Moreover, Royal Mail wants to pay regular pay rate for working on Sundays. That will be unfair to have folks not working Sundays because they can't drive and those that can get nothing extra for it

Exactly, what happened to equality. As a driver I wish to be treated the same as a non driver ie: If they are exempt from driving Sunday so should I be.

If there are colleagues that would like to work on Sundays but are unable to
drive, then a process will be put in place to identify these colleagues and explore
options to help them achieve this. The ambition is to grow Sunday daily volumes from
220k to 2.3m parcels, there may be opportunities for nondrivers to work 2 in a van akin
to Monday to Saturday operations.

Non-driver thinks 'Hmm I'm a non-driver, would I like to do a park and loop on a Sunday for
the same pay rate as in the week? Let me think about that and I'll get back to you......'

If you run some quotes limited mileage buisness insurance doesnt cost extra.

Almost all of us, apart from the very odd one, will not be relishing the idea of having to get up in the morning and going to our various RM shitholes, and slogging our guts out for no thanks, and certainly no appreciation from management for another endlessly long week.

And simple Simon and his gang of incompetents want to make our working lives even more miserable.

I hope he turns up at our DO one day, I really do.

Sunday working won't necessarily be from your own DO. It will be from your Sunday Parcel Hub, potentially delivering to areas we don't don't know.
